Is the 24,797-post Rajasthan LSG application still open?
No. The Local Self Government Department, Government of Rajasthan, issued Advertisement 1/2024 for 24,797 Safai Karamchari vacancies across 186 urban local bodies. Applications were accepted from 4 March through 24 March 2024, with the deadline at 23:59. That application window has passed. Read the official 2024 short notice.
The 24,797 figure and deadline describe Advertisement 1/2024, not the separate 2026 contractual recruitment listing. Do not use the old figure or treat the old application form as open.
What is known about the 2026 LSG listing?
The Rajasthan Recruitment Portal currently lists a “CONTRACTUAL SAFAI KARAMCHARI – 2026” recruitment under LSG. The portal is the state’s unified source for recruitment stages and candidate information, including one-time registration. Check the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal.

Indexed portal versions have displayed conflicting dates—13 October and 28 September 2026—so neither should be treated as a confirmed deadline. The vacancy count and detailed eligibility for this separate listing are not established here. Open the live advertisement and verify its application dates, requirements, and status before acting.
What the 2024 notice required
These requirements applied to Advertisement 1/2024 only; they should not be assumed to govern the 2026 contractual listing.

- Age: Applicants had to be at least 18 and below 40, calculated as of 1 January 2025. Category-specific age relaxations may apply under the detailed terms.
- Residence: Applicants had to be residents of Rajasthan.
- Work experience: Applicants needed at least one year of regular cleaning-work experience by the 2024 application deadline. The detailed notice gave examples of eligible settings, including urban local bodies, government departments, institutions, colonies, hospitals, hotels, factories, homes, shops, and malls. How selection worked in the 2024 recruitment
The department specified an urban-local-body-level lottery process and a practical examination. The notice described those stages, not a written examination. Applicants were directed to study the advertisement before applying.

- Go to the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal and find the live LSG listing titled “CONTRACTUAL SAFAI KARAMCHARI – 2026.”
- Open its detailed advertisement. Confirm the application window, vacancy count, eligibility, selection method, and any required documents in that notice rather than relying on search-result dates or 2024 details.
- Follow the application instructions in the current notice. The 2024 advertisement directed applicants to designated e-Mitra/public service kiosks or the Rajasthan SSO portal; use those channels for a new recruitment only if its own notice instructs you to.
For the 2024 recruitment, candidates who had already applied under Advertisement 1/2023 did not need to submit a fresh application, according to the 2024 short notice. That instruction was specific to the earlier recruitment cycle.
