The RPSC application window for the 2024 Geologist and Assistant Mining Engineer recruitment is closed. Rajasthan Public Service Commission accepted online applications from 22 July through 20 August 2024, and both examinations were held on 7 May 2025. Anyone looking for a new opportunity should check RPSC’s official recruitment notices rather than rely on this expired application information.

What the 2024 recruitment advertised

RPSC’s 10 July 2024 advertisement covered recruitment for Rajasthan’s Mines and Geology Department: 32 Geologist posts and 24 Assistant Mining Engineer posts, 56 posts in total. The advertisement notes that vacancy numbers could change. Its full provisions govern category-wise vacancies and eligibility conditions.

When applications opened and closed

The application process was online. Applications were accepted from 22 July to 20 August 2024; that deadline has passed, and the 2024 application form is not a current opening. The dates were also reported by Scroll.

Educational qualifications listed for each post

The qualifications below are the educational credentials specified in the reproduced recruitment advertisement. They are not a complete eligibility check: consult the detailed notice for all conditions before assessing whether a candidate qualified.

Post Educational qualification specified
Geologist A postgraduate degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a university established by law in India; a diploma in Applied Geology from the Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad; or a qualification declared equivalent by the government.
Assistant Mining Engineer A Mining Engineering degree from a university established by law in India; AMIE (Mining Engineering) Parts A and B of the Institution of Engineers; a Mining Engineering diploma from the Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad; or a qualification declared equivalent by the government.

How the application process worked

For historical context, RPSC’s general candidate instructions describe an application process involving One Time Registration (OTR). Those instructions date to December 2023; the 2024 application period has ended, so old portal labels, fees or step-by-step screen directions should not be treated as current instructions.

  1. Read the recruitment advertisement and check the full eligibility conditions for the relevant post.
  2. Complete the required registration through the RPSC recruitment portal.
  3. Select the Mines and Geology Department recruitment application for the relevant post.
  4. Enter the requested information, upload the required documents and pay the applicable fee.
  5. Review the entries, submit the application, and retain the application ID and a copy of the submitted form.

These steps describe the historical process, not a way to apply now. For any future recruitment, follow the instructions and dates in its new official notice.

Exam dates and format

RPSC scheduled both examinations for 7 May 2025, in separate sessions:

Post Exam date and session Format information established by the cited syllabus
Assistant Mining Engineer 7 May 2025, 9:30 a.m. to noon One written paper with 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks; duration of two hours and 30 minutes; negative marking.
Geologist 7 May 2025, 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. RPSC lists a separate 2024 syllabus. The Assistant Mining Engineer format should not be assumed to apply to this paper.

RPSC’s syllabus listing identifies separate 2024 syllabi for Geologist and Assistant Mining Engineer. Check the syllabus for the specific post rather than carrying the mining-engineering paper format over to Geologist.

Current status and where to check next

RPSC’s archive includes model answer-key material dated 12 May 2025 and results-related notices for the 2024 recruitment. Registration and examinations are in the past. Those notices alone do not establish the final disposition of every vacancy or candidate, so check the Commission’s latest official notices for any update relevant to an individual result or vacancy.

For a new opportunity, use RPSC’s official website and look for the latest recruitment advertisement. Official syllabi and past papers can help with preparation, but neither reopens the 2024 application window; RPSC lists past papers in its old papers archive.
