“Prudential stock” here means Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU), the U.S. insurer—not Prudential plc, which has a separate PRU listing on the London Stock Exchange. The latest quote surfaced for Prudential Financial was $112.36 at the October 7, 2026 market close (4:00 p.m. EDT). That is a prior-session closing price, not a confirmed live quote for October 8. Check Prudential Financial’s official stock quote page for an updated price and its timestamp.
How to check the current Prudential Financial share price
A stock price is useful only with its date, time, and trading status. At the time of the latest available quote in this article, the market was closed and the most recently displayed price was $112.36 per share for the October 7, 2026 close. Prices change during trading; do not treat that figure as a live October 8 quote.
Prudential Financial’s official stock information page provides a quote and chart. Check the page directly when making a decision, and note whether the market is open and whether the displayed data is delayed. Stock Analysis says its real-time quote data comes from CBOE and its delayed consolidated pricing from Nasdaq UTP; a displayed quote should not be assumed to be real time without checking its label.
What Prudential Financial reported in its latest surfaced results
Prudential Financial’s latest results available here are for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported both GAAP net income and adjusted operating income; they are different measures and should not be treated as interchangeable.
#1 Best Overall
| Measure | Reported figure | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Net income attributable to Prudential Financial | $985 million, or $2.80 per common share | GAAP result for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. |
| After-tax adjusted operating income | $1.438 billion, or $4.08 per common share | Company-reported adjusted measure for the same quarter. |
| Adjusted book value | $100.91 per common share | Company-reported amount as of June 30, 2026. |
| Assets under management | $1.642 trillion | Company-reported amount as of June 30, 2026. |
The company said second-quarter net income included a $299 million after-tax charge from its annual assumption update and other refinements. Adjusted operating income included a $51 million after-tax benefit from that same category of update. These figures are part of the reported quarter, not a forecast of future earnings or the share price. Prudential Chairman and CEO Andy Sullivan described the results as “strong” and said the company continued to execute with discipline and build momentum; that is management’s characterization, alongside the reported figures.

Company-disclosed risks to consider
Prudential’s second-quarter release identifies risks that can affect financial results. The following are examples disclosed by the company, not predictions or a complete assessment of the risks of owning PRU shares:
- Deterioration in investment credit quality or default by a counterparty.
- Changes in the value of market risk benefits.
- Mortality, morbidity, or policyholder behavior that differs from the assumptions used by the company.
- Remediation at Prudential of Japan taking longer than expected, uncovering additional misconduct, or a sales suspension continuing longer than expected.
These exposures help explain why a single quarter’s earnings or a comparison between the share price and book value cannot, on its own, establish whether the stock is suitable for a particular investor. The company discusses its risks in its SEC filings.
When Prudential is scheduled to report again
Prudential Financial’s news listing dated October 6, 2026, said the company would announce third-quarter 2026 earnings on November 3, 2026. Earnings schedules can change, so verify the date on the company’s investor-relations site before relying on it.
