Who owns Reading FC now?
Reading FC says Reading Football Club Limited is wholly owned by Redwood Holdings Limited. Its Company Details page lists Robert Emmett Couhig Jnr and Todd Trosclair as directors.
Companies House provides a separate registry cross-check: its filing history for Reading Football Club Limited records Renhe Sports Management Ltd ceasing to be a person with significant control, and Redwood Holdings 1 Ltd being notified as a person with significant control, effective 14 May 2025. The registry uses the name “Redwood Holdings 1 Ltd”; the club page uses “Redwood Holdings Limited.” These are the names given by the respective sources.
When was the takeover completed?
Reading announced a sale in principle to Redwood Holdings Limited on 3 May 2025. The proposed package included the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Ground, but the club said formal completion remained subject to final legal technicalities. The club described Redwood as a subsidiary of Dogwood Football LLC, owned by Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair of New Orleans, Louisiana. Reading’s 3 May statement documents that announcement.

The EFL subsequently confirmed that Reading was under new ownership from 14 May 2025. That is the completion date to use when describing the takeover as concluded, rather than pending. The EFL’s announcement confirms the change.
Are Chiron or Steve Bisciotti linked to the takeover?
The official sale statements and ownership information cited here do not identify Chiron as the purchaser or establish Steve Bisciotti as a participant in the completed takeover or as a current owner. The documented buyer is Redwood Holdings Limited. On this evidence, claims linking Chiron or Bisciotti to the deal are unverified—not established facts about Reading’s ownership.
That qualification is limited to the official club, EFL and registry material cited here; it does not prove that no separate report or claim exists. A claim about a possible investor should not be treated as equivalent to a completed acquisition: check who published it, when it appeared, and whether it describes speculation, negotiations, a sale in principle or a completed transaction.

Earlier club updates describe a process that was still underway, not a different completed takeover. On 7 October 2024, Reading said it had entered exclusivity with an unnamed potential purchaser. On 27 March 2025, the club said exclusivity continued and discussed unresolved litigation-related security arrangements and EFL deadlines. Those updates are historical; the EFL’s 14 May announcement establishes the later completion.

On 22 April 2025, the EFL extended Dai Yongge’s divestment deadline to 5 May while progress was being made on the proposed sale. This explains the regulatory pressure in the closing period, but it was a historical deadline—not Reading’s current ownership status.
