Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Short answer: there is no responsibly verifiable list of seven genuinely free Bitcoin cloud-mining apps. Real mining requires hardware, electricity, cooling and operations. Services that can document mining capacity generally charge for hashrate, electricity, maintenance or a deposit. “Free” features are usually trials, referrals, games, educational tools or rewards—not cost-free Bitcoin proof-of-work.
This guide separates those categories, explains what “legal” can and cannot mean, and shows how to check a service before sending money. Prices and availability change quickly; the examples below are dated and must be rechecked on the provider’s official site.
What Bitcoin cloud mining actually is
Cloud mining means buying or renting a stated quantity of remote computing power (hashrate) for a period. The provider operates the machines and normally deducts electricity, maintenance and platform charges. Bitdeer describes this model as computing power connected to a mining pool, with electricity subscriptions charged separately (company filing).
| Category | What you receive | Is it free Bitcoin mining? |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud mining | Contractual access to remote hashrate | No; operating costs are normally charged |
| Hosted ASIC mining | Your hardware (or a leased unit) in a data centre | No; you pay hosting and electricity |
| Hashrate marketplace | Ability to buy or sell computing power from market participants | No; marketplace fees and hashrate costs apply |
| Mining pool | Reward-sharing and worker monitoring for your own miners | No; a pool does not supply free hardware |
| Device mining | Software using your PC, GPU or ASIC | Usually not meaningful on a phone; you pay its power costs |
| Faucet, game or rewards app | Small promotional or advertising-funded rewards | No proof-of-work mining on your behalf |
| Referral programme | Commission or bonus for recruiting users | No; recruitment is not mining |
Can an app mine Bitcoin for free?
A phone app cannot remove the underlying cost of Bitcoin mining. A free offer may be funded by advertising, referrals, data collection, token sales or a limited promotional balance. “Free 1 TH/s” can still require a refundable deposit, KYC, a token purchase, maintenance payments or referrals. An in-app balance is not evidence of blockchain mining or a successful withdrawal.

GoMining says its digital miners are backed by physical hashrate, but its terms warn that payouts vary with market conditions, electricity prices, equipment maintenance and exchange rates and can fall below expectations (documentation; terms). Its academy, game, referrals and promotions should therefore be treated as separate features, not free mining (homepage).
What “legal” means for a mining app
Mining itself is not automatically unlawful in the United States, but a platform’s obligations depend on its business model, disclosures, money-transmission rules, consumer-protection requirements, taxes and your jurisdiction. A 2025 SEC/CFTC staff interpretation discussed certain proof-of-work activities; staff statements are nonbinding and are not blanket approval of cloud-mining apps (Federal Register notice).
Before calling a service legal, check whether it identifies its legal entity and operating locations, explains exactly what you buy, supports required KYC and sanctions screening, and is available in your country and state. A public listing or incorporation proves neither profitability nor consumer protection. The careful description is “no obvious prohibition identified in the sources reviewed,” not “regulator-approved.”

1. GoMining — mobile-first digital miners
- What it is: A platform selling digital miners associated with claimed physical hashrate and daily BTC distributions.
- What is free: Educational content and occasional promotions; no evidence here of universally free, withdrawable mining.
- Costs and risks: Miner price, maintenance deductions, variable payouts, custody and possible token exposure. Read the terms before paying.
- Best for: Users willing to investigate a digital-miner contract, not people seeking guaranteed income.
Verdict: Real-hashrate platform according to its documentation, but not a genuinely free service.
2. Bitdeer — transparent separate hashrate and electricity charges
- What it is: Paid Bitcoin cloud-hashrate subscriptions.
- Observed price signal: On August 18, 2026, the BTC page displayed a 30-day 10 TH/s Antminer S19Pro plan at $1.00 (previously $1.75), with a hashrate fee of $0.0033/T/D and electricity of $0.0531/T/D. A 180-day 50 TH/s plan showed $26.00, $0.0029/T/D hashrate and $0.0531/T/D electricity. The displayed plans were marked 100% sold, so these figures are historical signals, not current offers (official plans).
- Risks: Difficulty changes, short contracts, sold-out inventory and separate electricity charges. Bitdeer says prices respond to supply, demand and mining difficulty.
Verdict: Useful for inspecting fee disclosure; not free.
3. BitFuFu — public-company disclosure, not a profit guarantee
- What it is: Paid cloud-mining subscriptions with upfront and potentially subsequent service fees.
- Evidence: Its filing identifies Bitcoin price, network difficulty, hashrate or equipment cost and hosting electricity as key drivers. It reported a 2025 cloud-mining breakeven of $103,740 per BTC, while its reported average 2025 Bitcoin price was $101,600 (filing).
- Risks: A public filing improves information, but does not ensure contract performance, solvency or customer profit.
Verdict: A paid provider worth analysing, never a free or risk-free investment.
4. NiceHash — hashrate marketplace
- What it is: A marketplace matching hashrate buyers and sellers, rather than automatically a provider-owned cloud contract.
- Best for: Experienced users who understand algorithms, pool selection, marketplace pricing and withdrawals.
- Not for: Beginners seeking a free, set-and-forget app.
Check current fees, algorithms and withdrawal rules directly at NiceHash. Do not label marketplace purchases as free cloud mining.

5. Verified device-mining software
Only include a device-mining product when its current documentation confirms supported hardware, payout method and software integrity. It mines with your equipment, so electricity, heat, hardware wear and internet costs remain yours. Phones are generally unsuitable for meaningful Bitcoin ASIC mining; an app that merely shows a rising number is not proof that your phone is mining Bitcoin.
Verdict: A different category from cloud mining and not free after power and hardware costs.
6. Mining-pool dashboards and simulators
A pool dashboard can teach shares, hashrate, worker uptime and payout methods. A simulator can demonstrate difficulty and reward variance. Neither supplies free ASIC capacity or guarantees BTC. Treat an account balance as a reporting tool unless you can identify the underlying worker and an on-chain payout.
Verdict: Useful education, not cloud mining.
7. “Do not use” free-mining apps with no verifiable infrastructure
Reject apps that cannot identify a company, machines, pool or contract, or that show advertising-funded hashrate, guaranteed daily BTC, referral ladders, internal-only balances or a fee to unlock withdrawals. This category is more honest and safer than inventing a seventh recommendation.

How to calculate whether a contract can break even
Use the provider’s assumptions only as a starting point. A simple model is:
Net result = BTC mined − electricity fees − maintenance fees − pool/platform fees − contract cost − withdrawal/conversion fees
And:
Break-even BTC price = total remaining costs ÷ expected BTC received
Run a sensitivity table for BTC price down 30%, network difficulty up 20%, 10% downtime, higher maintenance, delayed payout and contract expiry. A calculator is an estimate, not a promise. BitFuFu’s reported breakeven illustrates how quickly economics can tighten even for an established operator.

Checklist before you deposit
- Can the provider identify the legal entity, data centre, hardware model, pool and hashrate (TH/s, PH/s or EH/s)?
- Are electricity, maintenance, pool, withdrawal and conversion fees itemised?
- Is the contract fixed-term, open-ended, cancellable or suspendable when rewards fall below costs?
- What is the minimum withdrawal, and is payment on-chain or only an internal ledger transfer?
- Is KYC required before deposit or only before withdrawal? Are U.S. residents and your state eligible?
- Do you own BTC in a wallet, hold a contractual claim, own a token or merely see an app number?
- Does a “free” offer require a deposit, token, referrals, activation fee or maintenance payment?
- What happens if the company closes or becomes insolvent, and is there a dispute process?
Failure modes and safe responses
Displayed earnings cannot be withdrawn
Possible explanations include a threshold, network fee, KYC hold, sanctions review, maintenance arrears, promotional restrictions, insolvency or a simulated balance. Do not pay a surprise “tax,” unlock fee, verification deposit or wallet-activation fee merely to release supposed earnings. Verify the company and contract independently.
Mining stops because rewards are too low
Some contracts permit suspension when rewards no longer cover electricity or maintenance. Read shutdown, restart and termination clauses; an economically rational suspension can still be a poor customer outcome.
A free miner requires a deposit
Classify it as a deposit-backed promotion. Record the amount, refund conditions, expiry, KYC requirements, currency of repayment and every maintenance charge before participating.
The company is public
Public reporting can reveal costs and risks, but it does not guarantee solvency, profitability or contract performance. Bitdeer’s filing, for example, shows cloud-hashrate revenue can change materially as contracts expire or capacity is reallocated (filing).
Safer alternatives when your goal is Bitcoin exposure
- Buy BTC directly: You avoid hardware, electricity and mining contracts, but still face market, custody, trading-fee and tax risks.
- Learn first: Use a simulator or pool dashboard to understand difficulty, shares and payouts without depositing.
- Run an ASIC: Calculate electricity, heat, noise, internet, maintenance and local rules before purchasing.
- Consider hosted mining carefully: Confirm ownership, insurance, uptime, electricity pricing, termination rights and counterparty risk.
Bottom line
For beginners, the best “free” Bitcoin cloud-mining choice is usually not to deposit money into an unverified app. GoMining, Bitdeer and BitFuFu illustrate real commercial models; NiceHash illustrates a marketplace; pools, simulators and device software are different tools. Verify total costs, jurisdiction, custody and withdrawal rules on the official site, and risk only money you can afford to lose.
