There is no independently verified global ranking of the “best” private jet charter companies. The ten providers below are a curated shortlist—not a quality league table—selected because company materials or an industry flight-activity report identify them as notable options. The right choice depends on how you want to book, who will operate the flight, whether the aircraft and route fit your needs, and what the full quote and contract say.

How to read this shortlist

Private aviation brands do not all sell the same thing. Some offer fractional or owner-oriented access; some sell memberships or on-demand charters; others arrange flights operated by a separate carrier. A brand’s fleet size, reach claim, safety badge, or flight count does not by itself establish better service or safer outcomes.

“Worldwide” is not a standardized measure. NetJets says its aircraft access reaches more than 5,000 airports in more than 200 countries and territories. VistaJet says passengers have flown to over 2,400 airports in 96% of the world’s countries. These are differently framed company-reported claims, not directly comparable measurements. Both figures are from undated provider pages accessed in 2026.

The list is arranged for comparison, not ranked from best to worst. Where available, December 2025 business-jet flight activity is noted as activity data only; it does not measure customer satisfaction or safety.

10 providers to consider

1. NetJets

NetJets presents global aircraft access and owner-oriented private aviation. Its undated provider page, accessed in 2026, claims access to more than 5,000 airports in more than 200 countries and territories. It also says it expects more than 80 aircraft deliveries during 2026; that is a forecast, not a count of aircraft already delivered. Ask which access arrangement, aircraft, and operating carrier apply to your itinerary.

2. VistaJet

VistaJet offers charter and membership plans, including VJ25, Program, and Corporate, and describes access through a consistent branded fleet. Its company-reported reach figures—over 2,400 airports in 96% of the world’s countries—use a different framing from NetJets’ figures, so they should not be treated as a head-to-head comparison. Confirm the plan’s availability, terms, and operating arrangements for the specific trip.

3. Flexjet

Flexjet is a fractional aviation provider. Its safety page describes ARGUS Platinum, ACSF Industry Audit Standard, and IS-BAO Stage 3 credentials, as well as MedAire support with access to more than 80,000 approved medical facilities. These are provider-reported credentials and support details, not comparative safety outcomes; verify current status, scope, and applicability to your flight. In ch-aviation’s January 2026 report, Flexjet was listed with 14,736 business-jet flights in December 2025, an activity measure rather than a service-quality score.

4. XO

XO offers a marketplace and charter-broker route to aircraft, including access to Vista’s members’ fleet. XO Global LLC says it is an air charter broker and does not directly operate aircraft. That distinction matters: request the actual carrier’s legal name, aircraft registration, certificate, and confirmation of who holds operational control before booking.

5. Luxaviation

Luxaviation offers charter and says it operates globally under 15 air operator certificates (AOCs). The relevant certificate and operating company depend on the trip, so check which one applies to your route and aircraft rather than assuming the brand name identifies the carrier.

6. Air Partner

Air Partner arranges flights that it says are operated by Part 135 or equivalent carriers; those carriers retain operational control. Its page identifies Air Partner as part of the Wheels Up group. Treat the arranger and the operating carrier as separate parties when reviewing the quote and contract, and establish who is responsible for flight operations.

7. Worldwide Jet

Worldwide Jet says it operates under FAA Part 135 and lists ARGUS Platinum, Wyvern Wingman, IS-BAO Stage III, and Air Charter Safety Foundation credentials. These are company-reported claims; verify current status and scope, and confirm that the specific aircraft and operating entity are authorized for your flight.

8. Wheels Up

Wheels Up describes membership and on-demand charter. Its terms distinguish agents or brokers from direct air carriers and foreign equivalents that operate flights. Ask which entity will operate your itinerary and what membership benefits, if any, apply to that particular booking.

9. flyExclusive

flyExclusive appears in ch-aviation’s December 2025 business-jet operator flight-activity table. That supports including it as a provider to compare by industry activity, but the report is not evidence of global reach, customer quality, or a particular booking model. Confirm the contracting entity, operating carrier, and service terms directly for your trip.

10. AirSprint

AirSprint also appears in ch-aviation’s December 2025 business-jet operator flight-activity table. That activity listing alone does not establish global coverage, service quality, or the terms available for a particular itinerary. Request the proposed operator and aircraft details along with the written quote.

How private jet charter marketplaces actually compare

The most useful distinction is not the brand’s marketing label but the arrangement you are buying. A direct operator, a fractional or owner-oriented program, a membership, and a brokered charter can differ in availability, pricing structure, contract terms, and which company controls the flight.

Booking arrangement What to establish Examples in this shortlist
On-demand charter Whether the provider is the operator or arranges a flight with another carrier; the aircraft, carrier, quote scope, and cancellation terms. VistaJet, Luxaviation, Worldwide Jet, and Wheels Up describe charter offerings; Air Partner arranges flights operated by carriers. The exact arrangement varies by trip.
Membership or owner-oriented access What access the plan actually provides, its availability rules and notice requirements, and any charges or restrictions in the contract. NetJets presents owner-oriented access; VistaJet and Wheels Up describe membership options. The sources do not provide standardized, comparable plan prices or service levels.
Fractional aviation The ownership or access commitment, aircraft availability, ongoing obligations, and trip-specific operating carrier. Flexjet is identified as a fractional aviation provider. NetJets presents owner-oriented private aviation; confirm the specific program and contractual structure.
Marketplace or broker arrangement The contracting party, actual operating carrier, who holds operational control, and how substitutions or disruptions are handled. XO says it is a broker, not a direct carrier. Air Partner says contracted carriers operate flights and retain operational control.

The sources do not establish standardized side-by-side prices, passenger-satisfaction scores, or comparable company-level safety rates. Compare written proposals on the same itinerary and assumptions rather than relying on a brand’s headline reach or a broad industry activity figure.

Compare the quote and contract on the same terms

Ask each provider to quote the same dates, route, passenger count, baggage needs, and aircraft class. A low headline price may not represent the same flight or contract terms as another offer. Check these items before comparing totals:

  • Service model and contracting entity: Identify whether you are buying charter, membership access, fractional or owner-related access, or a brokered arrangement—and which legal entity signs the agreement.
  • Operating carrier and control: Obtain the carrier’s legal name and ask who has operational control. A booking brand or broker may not be the operator.
  • Aircraft and fit: Confirm the proposed aircraft, passenger capacity, baggage limits, and suitability for the route. Ask how substitutions are handled.
  • Route and availability: Confirm that the route is feasible and available on your dates, and ask about notice requirements or route-specific constraints.
  • Full price: Request an itemized quote and clarify repositioning, fuel, and other charges, along with what may change before departure.
  • Cancellation and disruption: Read the terms for cancellation, delays, substitutions, and other disruptions, including any deadlines or fees.
  • Safety claims: Ask which audit or credential applies to the proposed operating company and aircraft, when it was current, and what its scope covers.

Verify the operator before you pay

For US Part 135 charter, the FAA says: “An air charter — also known as commuter or on-demand operations under 14 CFR part 135 — requires a higher level of pilot training and certification, maintenance procedures, and safety rules, than pilots who may take family or friends for an airplane ride.” This describes the regulatory framework; it is not a guarantee about a particular operator, aircraft, crew, or itinerary.

The FAA’s Part 135 operator and aircraft list is intended to help verify whether an operator is certificated and whether an aircraft is authorized. The FAA says the list is updated weekly. If a company or aircraft is absent, the FAA advises contacting the local Flight Standards District Office to verify charter status.

  1. Ask for trip-specific details: Get the operating carrier’s legal name, aircraft registration, applicable certificate, and confirmation of who holds operational control.
  2. Check the relevant authority: For a US Part 135 flight, use the FAA operator and aircraft resources. For an international journey, check the equivalent civil aviation authority and certificate for the relevant jurisdiction.
  3. Recheck the final assignment: Confirm the documents match the actual aircraft and carrier assigned to your trip, not just an earlier quote or the broker’s brand.

Regulator checks and private audit credentials answer different questions. A listing or badge should be verified for the relevant operator, aircraft, scope, and date; neither should be read as a promise of a disruption-free flight or a comparative safety ranking.

What the flight-activity figures do—and do not—show

Ch-aviation’s January 2026 report lists 37,077 business-jet flights for NetJets Aviation and 14,736 for Flexjet during December 2025. flyExclusive and AirSprint also appear in the report’s operator table. These are business-jet flight-activity figures for one month, not passenger counts, global-coverage measures, safety rates, or rankings of customer experience. They can help identify active operators to investigate, but they cannot tell you which provider is best for your trip.
