Samsung Rewards points are currently worth $0.005 each in the U.S. when redeemed on Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung app. That makes 200 points worth $1, 1,000 points worth $5, and 10,000 points worth $50. They are purchase discounts—not cash—and eligibility depends on the product, account, promotion, and payment method.
This guide reflects Samsung’s U.S. program information checked August 18, 2026.

How much are Samsung Rewards points worth?
Samsung’s current U.S. FAQ states that one Samsung Rewards point has a redemption value of $0.005, or half a cent, on eligible purchases through Samsung.com and the Shop Samsung app.

Equivalently, 200 points are needed for $1. This is the redemption value, not the rate at which you earn points. For example, a tier advertised as “1% back” describes the number of points earned from an eligible purchase; it does not mean each point is worth one cent.

What can you buy with Samsung Rewards points?
The clearest, currently documented redemption destinations are:
- Samsung.com
- The Shop Samsung app
- Eligible Samsung products and qualified purchases shown as eligible during checkout
Depending on the offer and account, Samsung’s broader Rewards ecosystem may also reference Galaxy Store, Samsung Food+, Art Store, SmartThings-related opportunities, or other Samsung services. Do not assume that every Samsung-related balance is interchangeable or that every service accepts ordinary Rewards points. The checkout screen or the terms for the specific program control.
Rewards programs that are not the same currency

Before calculating your balance, confirm that the account is displaying Samsung Rewards points, not Gems, card rewards, an eCertificate, or another benefit.
How to redeem Samsung Rewards points
- Sign in to the Samsung Account associated with your Rewards balance.
- Add an eligible product to Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app.
- Proceed to checkout.
- Select Samsung Rewards as a payment method or redemption option when it appears.
- Review the points-to-discount conversion shown by checkout.
- Apply the desired number of points and confirm the reduced total before placing the order.
Samsung says points may pay for all or part of a qualified product purchase. They generally cannot pay shipping, taxes, or other fees. Samsung’s terms also state that Rewards points cannot reduce the purchase price when Samsung Financing is selected.
If the option is missing, check that you are using the correct account, the points are available rather than pending, the product is eligible, and the purchase is being made through Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app. Also check that the balance has not expired and is actually Samsung Rewards points.
Samsung’s terms say that a customer who is not logged in to the correct account at checkout may lose the ability to claim points retroactively. Logging in after the purchase may not fix the problem.

How to check your balance and expiration dates
Samsung documents these routes:
On Samsung.com
- Sign in to your Samsung Account.
- Select the account icon.
- Open My Account.
- Select See My Points under Rewards.
You can also check Samsung’s My Rewards account page.
In Samsung Members
- Open Samsung Members.
- Tap Benefits.
- Tap Samsung Rewards.
In the Shop Samsung app
- Open the app.
- Open the three-line menu.
- Tap My Rewards.
Review the transaction history, not just the headline balance. A balance can include pending points, points earned in different months, reversed points, or adjustments after a cancellation or return.
When do Samsung Rewards points expire?
Samsung’s current U.S. FAQ says points earned during a particular month remain valid for 36 calendar months through the last day of that month. Unused points then expire. Samsung says it uses the oldest points first when you redeem, helping newer points remain available longer.
For example:
- Points earned during August 2026 would generally remain valid through August 31, 2029.
- Points earned during September 2026 would generally remain valid through September 30, 2029.
Your balance therefore does not have one universal expiration date. A large balance may expire in batches based on the month each portion was earned. Check the account history before deciding whether to save or spend.
What happens when you return or cancel an order?
Samsung says that if you use Rewards points on a returned product, the redeemed amount is reversed after the product reaches Samsung’s warehouse and is inspected. If an order is canceled before shipment, points are generally reversed within a few days after Samsung receives the cancellation in its system.
Points earned from a purchase may initially appear as pending. They become available only after applicable transaction, return, and chargeback conditions are satisfied. Samsung’s terms also add a processing delay of 15 days after the end of the calendar month in which a qualifying purchase occurred.
Partial returns, exchanges, bundle changes, and promotional purchases can produce an adjustment that differs from your initial expectation. Keep the order confirmation and inspect the Rewards transaction history after the return or cancellation is fully processed.

How are Samsung Rewards points earned?
The core earning method is buying eligible products through Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app while signed in to the correct Samsung Account. Samsung calculates purchase-based points from the final purchase price after discounts, coupons, promotional codes, gift certificates, and points have been applied. Shipping, taxes, and other fees are excluded.

These are availability-dependent opportunities, not permanent benefits that every customer should expect.
Points may appear as pending shortly after an eligible purchase, but they are not necessarily spendable immediately. The return-period, chargeback, and month-end processing rules still apply.
Samsung Rewards tiers
The ordinary U.S. tier structure currently identified by Samsung is:

Select products may offer tier-specific multipliers. Samsung says Platinum can also include early access to special events and a 20% discount on certain appliance haul-away and installation services.
Do not confuse the earning rate with redemption value. At a 1% earning rate, a $1,000 qualifying purchase generates 10 dollars’ worth of points under the current $0.005 redemption value: 1% of $1,000 is $10, which equals 2,000 points.
Samsung says tier status lasts through the end of the following year and must then be re-earned. Samsung’s public pages are not perfectly synchronized on every historical enrollment detail, so rely on the status and terms shown in your account.

Samsung Rewards versus VIP Advantage
VIP Advantage is a paid membership layered onto the Samsung Rewards ecosystem. Samsung lists the price as $149.99 per year as of August 18, 2026, with annual auto-renewal unless canceled before the renewal date.
Samsung lists benefits that may include:
- Six points per dollar on eligible purchases
- 10% off many eligible accessories
- Care+-related discounts
- Two-year Samsung Care+ coverage for up to four products per year, without theft and loss
- Free simple installation or 50% off complex installation and TV mounting
- Free haul-away up to four times per membership term
- Priority support, early access, and exclusive discounts
VIP Advantage is not required to redeem ordinary Samsung Rewards points. It may suit a frequent Samsung buyer, appliance or TV customer, or someone who will genuinely use installation, haul-away, or Care+ benefits. It is usually a poor fit for someone with a small existing balance and no planned purchase.

There is no universal break-even point because the value depends on the products you buy and the services you would otherwise pay for. Do not buy VIP Advantage simply to unlock an existing points balance.
Samsung Rewards versus the Galaxy Store and Galaxy Card
Samsung’s Galaxy Store Benefits program uses mechanics such as Gems, coupons, digital gift cards, and sweepstakes. Those benefits should not be entered into the Samsung Rewards conversion table unless Samsung specifically provides a conversion.
The Samsung Galaxy Card is a separate credit-card product. Samsung describes it as having no annual fee and integrating with Samsung Wallet and Samsung.com, but approval, APR, earning categories, bonuses, and redemption rules are governed by separate card and issuer terms. It is not a substitute for Samsung Rewards points.
A Galaxy Card may fit someone who already pays credit-card balances in full and wants a dedicated Samsung ecosystem card. It is a poor fit for anyone carrying a balance or seeking flexible cash-back rewards. Never apply for a card merely to preserve or redeem Samsung Rewards points.
Are Samsung Rewards points worth using?
They are worth exactly $0.005 each under the current U.S. redemption rule, but whether you should spend them now depends on timing and alternatives.

Spend points when:
- Some of the balance is approaching expiration.
- You are already buying an eligible Samsung product.
- The points cover a meaningful portion of the order.
- The points can be combined with a current discount or promotion.
- You prefer a lower purchase total over saving for a later purchase.
Consider saving them when:
- You have a larger Samsung purchase planned soon.
- Your points have distant expiration dates.
- A clearly advertised temporary promotion offers enhanced redemption value or a multiplier.
- Your current cart is too small to use the balance efficiently.
Compare points with the actual value of trade-in credit, instant promotions, bundle discounts, eCertificates, financing terms, and current offers on Samsung’s promotions page. A trade-in credit or instant discount may be more valuable than waiting to earn a modest number of points. Conversely, a promotion may expire sooner than your points.
Most importantly, do not buy an unnecessary Samsung product to “unlock” a small balance. A $5 points balance is not a reason to spend hundreds of dollars.
Troubleshooting missing or unusable points
The Rewards option does not appear
Confirm that you are signed in to the correct Samsung Account, are using Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app, and have an eligible item in the cart. Remove Samsung Financing if you want to apply points, because Samsung’s terms prohibit using points to reduce a financed purchase price.

Pending status after a purchase can be normal. Samsung waits for transaction, return, and chargeback conditions to close, and its terms describe an additional post-month-end processing delay.
The balance is not the program you expected
Check whether you are viewing Samsung Rewards points, Galaxy Store Gems, Samsung Elite points, Galaxy Card rewards, or an eCertificate. These programs have separate rules.
Points disappeared after a return
Redeemed points may not be reversed until Samsung receives and inspects the returned product. After processing, compare the account transaction history with the order confirmation.
Points expired
Review the earning month for each portion of the balance. Samsung’s current FAQ uses a 36-calendar-month rule through the last day of the earning month, so expiration can occur in batches.

Samsung’s terms state that deleting a Samsung Rewards Account forfeits the points and associated transaction-service history. Re-enrollment starts with no previous balance.
The rules changed
Samsung reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the program. For any important purchase, use the live account and checkout information rather than relying on an old points calculator or forum post.
