Important: The monitor offers in this article were reported by Tom’s Guide on December 1, 2025, Cyber Monday. They are historical examples, not confirmed live prices or inventory for September 2026. Use them to understand which types of deals offered genuine value—and verify today’s price, seller, warranty, and return policy before buying.
The roundup covered more than 41 US and UK monitor offers, from sub-$100 1080p screens to OLED gaming monitors, 4K displays, ultrawides, productivity monitors, and PS5-focused models. The best deal was not necessarily the one with the biggest advertised discount. It was the monitor whose final price, specifications, compatibility, and compromises made sense for a particular buyer.

Best deal categories by buyer
Best budget and second-monitor deal
A 24- or 27-inch 1080p monitor can be excellent value for email, documents, streaming, or a second screen. Models highlighted in the roundup included the Samsung S3 27-inch, an LG 27-inch 1080p IPS monitor, the Philips 24E1N1100A, and the MSI Pro MP2412.
For text-heavy work, a 24-inch 1080p display is generally sharper than a large 27-inch 1080p screen because the pixels are packed more densely. IPS is usually the safer choice for viewing angles and general-purpose use, while VA can provide better contrast but may show dark-level smearing in games.
Before buying, check whether the monitor has DisplayPort as well as HDMI, a VESA mounting pattern, height adjustment, and a usable stand. Built-in speakers can be convenient, but they should not justify paying substantially more for a screen with weak image quality.
Best budget gaming deal
Entry-level gaming models such as the Gigabyte G27FC, an Acer 27-inch 120Hz display, and other 120Hz or 180Hz monitors can make games feel noticeably smoother than a traditional 60Hz screen.
However, a quoted refresh rate does not guarantee good motion clarity. Check the monitor’s real response-time behavior, input lag, adaptive-sync support, and the connection required to reach the advertised refresh rate. A 180Hz monitor may need DisplayPort, while HDMI may be limited to a lower rate.
A curved 1080p monitor with speakers can be inexpensive and attractive, but it may compromise on stand quality, pixel density, color accuracy, or ports. It is a reasonable value for casual gaming when the final price is low; it is not automatically the best choice for office work or color-sensitive tasks.
Best 1440p gaming deal
For many PC gamers, 27-inch 1440p at roughly 165Hz to 180Hz is the most balanced specification. It offers more detail than 1080p without imposing the same graphics burden as 4K.
Rank #2
- Quality Visuals: The VG270K 27" IPS monitor with 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
- AMD FreeSync Premium Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync Premium, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
- Quick Refresh Rate: Different content has different refresh rate and resolution requirements. If you are playing an FPS or racing game, you will need a monitor with a high refresh rate. However, if you are doing office work or streaming videos, a higher resolution will be more beneficial. With DFR technology, users can choose a higher resolution, or a higher refresh rate based on what is suitable for them.
- Responsive: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter if the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting.
- ZeroFrame Design: With a Nitro VG270K monitor, you’ll want to see as much of the display as possible. Get more real estate with the near bezel-less design, allowing you to see more and do more. The ZeroFrame design lets you place multiple monitors next to each other for a seamless, almost uninterrupted view.
The roundup included examples such as the Alienware AW2723DF and ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS. These kinds of monitors make more sense than an ultra-high-refresh display when a graphics card can deliver high but not extreme frame rates.
Do not pay for 240Hz or more unless your games and hardware can regularly produce frame rates high enough to use it. Otherwise, a cheaper 1440p high-refresh display may provide better value.
Best OLED or QD-OLED deal
OLED and QD-OLED monitors can deliver exceptionally deep blacks, strong contrast, and very fast pixel response. Models mentioned in the source included the AOC Q27G41ZDF QD-OLED, Acer Predator X27U, Alienware AW3423DWF, Alienware AW2725DF, and several LG UltraGear OLED displays.
The main question is not simply whether the discount is large. It is whether the monitor suits your workload. OLED can be compelling for gaming and films, but buyers should consider:
Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute- Burn-in risk with static desktop elements, taskbars, and repeated application layouts;
- Brightness limitations compared with some LCD displays;
- Text rendering differences caused by the panel’s subpixel layout;
- Pixel-refresh and panel-care requirements;
- The manufacturer’s current burn-in warranty, exclusions, and regional terms.
Never assume that every OLED model has the same coverage. Confirm the exact model’s warranty before purchase.
Best 4K deal
4K is useful for detailed images, large screens, office work, creative applications, and console gaming. The source roundup included the Dell S3225QS, Acer Predator XB273K, Sony Inzone M9 II, and Sony Inzone M10S.
A discounted 4K monitor can be a particularly good productivity purchase, but gaming value depends on the computer. Driving modern games at 4K and high refresh rates requires considerably more graphics performance than 1440p. A cheaper 4K screen with a modest refresh rate may be excellent for work but disappointing for fast-paced gaming.
Rank #3
- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
For PS5 buyers, verify 4K support at 120Hz, variable refresh rate, HDR behavior, and the available HDMI specification. A monitor advertising 160Hz or 240Hz does not mean a PS5 will output at those rates.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBest ultrawide deal
Ultrawides can replace some dual-monitor setups and are useful for timelines, spreadsheets, editing interfaces, and immersive games. Highlighted models included the Alienware AW3425DWM, LG UltraGear ultrawide models, the Lenovo Legion Pro 34WD-10, Samsung Odyssey OLED G9, and INNOCN 49QR1.
Size is the major hidden cost. A 34-, 45-, or 49-inch display may require a deeper and wider desk, a stronger monitor arm, and a more powerful computer. A 34-inch ultrawide also does not provide the same vertical workspace as two stacked or vertically arranged monitors.
For a super-ultrawide, confirm that your laptop, dock, or graphics card can support the required resolution and refresh rate. USB-C video output may work at a reduced refresh rate if the dock lacks sufficient bandwidth.
Best monitor for MacBook and productivity
For Mac and Windows work, prioritize USB-C video input, adequate power delivery, a USB hub, KVM support, height adjustment, and text clarity. A monitor described as “Mac-compatible” may still require a separate dock, may provide less charging power than a MacBook needs, or may behave differently during wake-from-sleep.
Productivity buyers should also consider pixel density. A large 1080p screen can make text look soft, while 4K or a suitably dense 1440p display can provide a clearer workspace. Picture-by-picture, picture-in-picture, and daisy chaining can be valuable, but only when the computer and cables support them.
Best portable option
The roundup included the ASUS TUF Gaming 14-inch portable monitor. Portable displays can be useful for travel, temporary workstations, or a laptop’s second screen.
Rank #4
- Improved ComfortView Plus: Reduces harmful blue light emissions to ≤35%, for all-day comfort without sacrificing color accuracy.
- Refresh rate: A smooth, tear-free experience with AMD FreeSync Premium (refresh rate up to 120Hz) and an ultra-low 0.03ms response time create a captivating experience for work and play.
- Vivid colors: Immerse yourself in breathtaking 4K visuals with in-plane switching technology. Enjoy vibrant colors with 99% sRGB. The 1500:1 contrast ratio and HDR readiness deliver excellent depth and detail.
- Re-engineered sound quality: Enjoy more detailed sound with spacious audio featuring greater output power, deeper frequency response and more decibel range than the previous generation.
- Ultra-thin bezel: Designed with a sleek, modern aesthetic and an ash white finish, this display features ultra-thin bezels for a refined, minimalist design.
Check whether the monitor receives both power and video over one USB-C connection. Some laptops support USB-C video but cannot provide enough power, requiring a second cable or wall adapter. Also confirm that the included cable supports the required video mode.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.How to judge whether a monitor discount is real
- Start with the final price. A large percentage reduction from an inflated reference price may be less valuable than a smaller discount on a monitor with a consistently competitive street price.
- Check price history. Record the date, retailer, condition, shipping cost, and any coupon or membership requirement. A retailer’s crossed-out price alone does not establish a genuine bargain.
- Confirm the exact model number. Similar names can conceal different sizes, panel types, ports, stands, or regional revisions.
- Check seller and condition. Confirm that the listing is new rather than open-box, refurbished, or sold by an unfamiliar marketplace vendor.
- Price the required extras. A monitor may need a DisplayPort cable, HDMI 2.1 cable, USB-C dock, monitor arm, or adapter. Include those costs in the comparison.
- Read the warranty and return policy. This matters particularly for OLED panels, marketplace purchases, dead pixels, and clearance stock.
Specifications that matter most
Resolution and size
- 1080p: Best suited to budget displays and 24- or 25-inch gaming monitors.
- 1440p: Often the best balance for 27-inch PC gaming.
- 4K: Strong for detailed work, large screens, and consoles, but more demanding for gaming.
- 5K or 5K2K ultrawide: Useful for demanding productivity and creative workflows, but expensive and bandwidth-intensive.
Refresh rate and response time
Higher refresh rates improve smoothness and can reduce perceived latency, but only when the computer can produce enough frames. Manufacturer claims such as “1ms” or “0.03ms” may apply to a particular overdrive or measurement mode and do not reveal typical motion performance or input lag.
HDR
HDR10 support is not proof of impressive HDR. Evaluate peak brightness, local dimming, contrast, black levels, highlight behavior, and certification. OLED generally offers excellent black levels; LCD models need effective dimming and sufficient brightness to make HDR worthwhile.
Connectivity and ergonomics
Check HDMI and DisplayPort versions, USB-C input, USB-C charging wattage, KVM, USB hub, headphone output, speakers, VESA compatibility, and included cables. A stand with only tilt adjustment may be a false economy if you need ergonomic positioning.
Deals to skip, even when the discount looks large
- A monitor whose high refresh rate is available only through a port your computer cannot use;
- A large 1080p display intended for close-up, text-heavy work;
- A 4K gaming monitor your graphics card cannot drive at the desired settings;
- An OLED model with unclear burn-in coverage for an all-day static desktop workload;
- An ultrawide that does not fit your desk or requires an expensive arm;
- A marketplace listing with unclear seller identity, condition, warranty, or returns;
- A display promoted for HDR without meaningful brightness or dimming performance;
- A monitor with a poor stand when a better-supported competitor costs only slightly more.
US and UK buyers should check regional differences
The original roundup had separate US and UK sections. Do not assume that a model with the same name has identical ports, refresh rates, stand design, warranty coverage, or bundled cables in both markets. Verify the regional SKU and buy from a retailer whose return and warranty terms apply to your country.
Monitor purchase checklist
- Exact model number and screen size;
- Resolution and refresh rate at that resolution;
- Port required to reach the advertised refresh rate;
- HDMI 2.1 requirement for console use;
- USB-C video support and charging wattage;
- Adaptive-sync compatibility with your GPU or console;
- HDR brightness and dimming capability;
- Height, swivel, tilt, pivot, and VESA support;
- Included cables and the cost of any required accessories;
- New, open-box, or refurbished condition;
- Warranty, OLED burn-in coverage, dead-pixel policy, and return deadline;
- Final price after coupons, shipping, taxes, and membership requirements.
Bottom line: The strongest Cyber Monday monitor purchase was the one that matched the buyer’s hardware and workload at a genuinely competitive final price. The 2025 roundup is useful historical evidence, but its expired prices and availability should not be copied into a current deal recommendation.
