In the U.S., the Tesla Model Y’s price depends on trim and fees, while towing capacity depends on the vehicle’s seating and wheel configuration. Tesla’s U.S. page lists the Model Y L Premium at $61,990 before destination and order fees, taxes, and other fees; Tesla gives $63,630 including destination and order fees but excluding taxes and other fees. A separate configurator result shows $39,990 for a specific Model Y configuration, not every trim. For towing, the North American 2025+ manual lists up to 3,500 lb (1,588 kg) of trailer weight and 350 lb (159 kg) of tongue weight for many configurations, but some seven-seat configurations have lower limits or cannot tow. Check the exact vehicle’s live price, manual, and hitch label.
How much does the Model Y Juniper cost?
Tesla’s U.S. Model Y page lists the Model Y L Premium at $61,990. Tesla says that price excludes destination and order fees, taxes, and other fees; its stated total including destination and order fees is $63,630, still excluding taxes and other fees. Tesla also says listed prices may change. Check Tesla’s current U.S. Model Y page for the trim and price available when you order.
A separate result from Tesla’s U.S. configurator displayed a $39,990 vehicle price for a particular Model Y configuration, with an order fee listed separately. That is not a universal price for the Juniper or for every trim. Confirm the selected trim, configuration, fees, and checkout total before comparing prices. Tesla’s configurator is the place to check a specific build.
For a meaningful price comparison, match the trim and drivetrain, then compare the vehicle price, destination and order fees, tax treatment, and any other fees. The figures above are U.S. Tesla prices, not an estimate of total ownership cost.

Can the Model Y Juniper tow?
Yes, some North American Model Y configurations can tow when equipped and configured for towing. Tesla’s 2025+ North American Model Y Owner’s Manual lists maximums of 3,500 lb (1,588 kg) trailer weight and 350 lb (159 kg) tongue weight for many five-seat wheel configurations. Those are not blanket ratings for every Juniper: passenger count and wheel configuration change some seven-seat limits.
Tesla’s manual states: “The maximum towing capacity and trailer tongue weight must never exceed the following:” Use the row for the actual vehicle rather than relying on the headline maximum.

These are Tesla’s North American manual ratings; the manual and hitch label for the specific vehicle govern.
What changes the permitted load?
The trailer-weight figure includes the trailer’s cargo and added equipment. Occupants, tires, and the vehicle’s passenger and cargo load also affect the allowable trailer and tongue loads. Check the actual vehicle’s manual and hitch label, along with tire limits and pressures, trailer-braking guidance, local speed limits, and applicable laws. Tesla notes that towing capability may depend on region, configuration, options, and software, so do not assume every Model Y Juniper is tow-equipped or tow-capable.

What comes with the tow package?
Tesla’s North American Model Y Tow Package includes a high-strength steel tow bar with a 2-inch receiver, a North American 7-pin connector, a trailer harness, and tow-mode software. A ball mount is not included; select one for the trailer and verify that it fits the vehicle and its load requirements.
Tesla’s ball-mount instructions specify a mount up to 8.5 inches (22 cm) long and up to 0.75 inches (2 cm) of rise. Do not use a drop mount outside those requirements. Match the ball size and mount rating to the trailer, and verify fit against the instructions for the specific vehicle.

For hitch-carried accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, Tesla gives a 160 lb (72 kg) maximum vertical load at the receiver. This is an accessory-carrier limit, not the trailer towing rating. The carrier itself counts toward the limit, and a cantilevered carrier load differs from a trailer connected at the ball.

Yes. Tesla’s 2025+ European Model Y Owner’s Manual describes a different framework: up to 750 kg for an unbraked trailer and 1,600 kg for a braked trailer, subject to vehicle and load conditions. These European figures are not interchangeable with North American ratings. In Europe, consult the vehicle’s certificate of conformity, statutory plate, or hitch label as well as its manual; elsewhere, use the documents and rules for that market.
