Canadian retailers used the April 24, 2025 preorder date. Walmart Canada was reported to open online at 12:00 a.m. Eastern. The available reporting established the date for other Canadian retailers but did not establish a complete, retailer-by-retailer clock-time list, so their exact opening times should not be assumed.

Nintendo and selected UK retailers began preorders on April 8, 2025. A complete source-backed schedule of individual UK retailer clock times was not established. Retailers could therefore have used different launch times, and the April 8 date should not be treated as a universal hour.
What the dates and prices meant
Nintendo of America announced that U.S. retail preorders would begin April 24, 2025. The U.S. launch followed on June 5, 2025, with these official launch suggested retail prices:

Choosing a retailer when a new preorder window appears
Online versus in-store
Online ordering gives you a precise opening time but can involve queues, account sign-in and payment verification. In-store ordering depends on each location’s opening hours and local allocation.
Delivery versus pickup
Compare the retailer’s estimated delivery date with launch-day pickup availability. A preorder confirmation does not by itself guarantee that a particular store will have pickup stock.
Bundles and accessories
The Mario Kart World bundle and additional controllers could have separate allocations. Check whether the console, bundle, Pro Controller or Joy-Con 2 pair is actually listed before completing checkout.

Membership, payment and cancellation rules
Some retailers may restrict quantities or offer early access to members. Review the retailer’s payment authorization, cancellation deadline and pickup rules before submitting the order. Nintendo’s support guidance distinguishes physical Nintendo Store pre-purchases, which are charged immediately and ship one to three business days after release, from eShop digital preorders, which follow a different payment process.
Can you still buy a Switch 2 from Amazon or Nintendo?
Nintendo’s retailer directory includes Amazon as well as major U.S. chains such as Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart. Whether any of them has inventory, a current price or a delivery slot is live information and is not established by the 2025 preorder schedule. Check the product page and checkout estimate directly before paying; do not treat the historical opening times as evidence of current availability.
