Before you install
- Use a supported iPhone or Android device, not an ordinary Windows or Mac computer.
- Connect to reliable Wi-Fi or mobile data and make sure enough storage is available.
- Install pending operating-system updates.
- Check parental controls, workplace management policies, and the country on your Apple or Google account if the listing is missing.
- Cash App’s mobile terms require a compatible, unlocked device and a stable internet connection: read the Mobile Terms.
How to download Cash App on an iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Tap Search and enter Cash App.
- Select the listing whose developer is Block, Inc. Open the official listing directly if several similarly named apps appear.
- Tap Get.
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple Account password when prompted.
- Wait for the download and installation, then tap Open. You can also launch Cash App later from the Home Screen or App Library.
The current U.S. App Store listing says Cash App requires iOS 17.0 or later. Requirements can change, so use the compatibility message shown on the live listing for your particular device: Apple’s Cash App listing. Apple’s general installation instructions are at Apple Support.

If the button says “Open”
Open means the app is already installed or was previously downloaded with that Apple Account. Tap it, or find Cash App in the App Library. If you are using a replacement phone, opening the app does not create a second account.
How to download Cash App on Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for Cash App.
- Choose the listing published by Block, Inc. Check the name, publisher, reviews, and download information before proceeding.
- Tap Install.
- Wait for installation to finish, then tap Open, or launch Cash App from your app drawer.
Google’s standard process is described in Google Play Help. Android compatibility is determined by the current listing, your device, and your Google Play country; use the listing’s compatibility message rather than assuming every Android phone is supported.

Why you should not install a random APK
For ordinary users, Google Play is the appropriate source. Google warns that apps installed from unknown sources can damage a device, cause data loss, or compromise personal information. Do not bypass a Play Store incompatibility warning with an APK website: Google’s unknown-source safety guidance.
How to verify that a Cash App download is real
- The app name is exactly Cash App.
- The developer or publisher is Block, Inc..
- On iPhone, the listing is the official Apple page; on Android, it is the official Google Play page linked above.
- Reject altered names such as “Cash App Money Generator,” “Cash App Free Money,” “Cash App Rewards,” or “Cash App Hack.”
- Do not use links from unsolicited texts, direct messages, pop-ups, or suspicious emails. Start at cash.app or open the store yourself.
- No legitimate support agent will ask for your password, Cash PIN, or one-time sign-in code. Cash App recommends using official channels, paying only people you trust, and enabling Security Lock: Cash App scam guidance.

- Open Cash App and choose Sign Up or the account-access option shown.
- Enter a phone number or email address and enter the one-time confirmation code.
- Provide the personal information requested on screen. Cash App’s getting-started guide identifies a legal name and date of birth as part of setup.
- Complete identity verification if prompted.
- Choose or confirm a unique $cashtag.
- Create a four-digit Cash PIN and, where available, enable device authentication.
- Optionally link a bank account or debit card for features that require one.
Exact screens vary by account type, age, device, and app version. Cash App’s terms say registration or particular features may require information such as an address, text-enabled phone, Social Security number, or government-issued identification; that does not mean every new user is asked for every item immediately. Location, age, and computer limitations
United States availability
Cash App’s current send-money page says only U.S. residents can create Cash App accounts: check the current availability information. Its mobile terms contain broader language about where particular services may operate, so availability of a feature depends on your location and the current terms. Do not use a VPN to pretend to be in another country.

Children and teens
Store age ratings, account eligibility, sponsored teen accounts, and feature access are separate issues. Do not assume that anyone who can install the app can open every type of account. Review the current store listing and Cash App’s eligibility disclosures.
Windows and Mac computers
The standard Cash App product is a mobile application. Google says Play apps are designed for supported Android and Chromebook devices, not ordinary Windows or Mac installations. A desktop browser can visit Cash App’s website or help pages, but that is not the same as installing the mobile app.

Cash App does not appear in the store
- Search for the exact name and check the developer is Block, Inc.
- Review your operating-system and device compatibility message.
- Check the Apple Account or Google Play country; availability can differ by country.
- Review parental controls and workplace or school device-management restrictions.
- Make sure you are searching on a supported mobile device rather than a computer.

- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
“Get” or “Install” does nothing
- Confirm that Wi-Fi or mobile data works.
- Close and reopen the App Store or Google Play.
- Restart the phone.
- Check available storage.
- Install pending operating-system updates.
- Confirm that the correct Apple Account or Google Account is signed in.
- Try again from the official listing.
- If the store reports incompatibility, do not sideload an unofficial download.
Contact Apple or Google for a store or device failure. Use Cash App Help for account-specific problems.
The app installed but I cannot sign in
Reinstalling does not guarantee automatic account recovery. On a new device, Cash App may require additional authentication. Use the phone number or email tied to the existing account, and do not create a second account just because the login screen looks unfamiliar. If access still fails, use in-app help or the official support channels listed in Cash App’s current Mobile Terms, including 1-800-969-1940.
You downloaded a suspicious app
Stop entering information, uninstall it, update the phone, and change any password that you entered elsewhere. Contact your bank or card issuer if financial details were provided. Use only official Cash App support; never call a number supplied by the suspicious app, an advertisement, or a social-media account.
Is Cash App free to download?
Yes. Cash App describes downloading the app and creating an account as free. That does not make every service or transaction free: fees and eligibility can vary by transfer method, card use, investing, borrowing, and other features. Check Cash App’s current disclosures for the specific service before using it.
