A Japanese Prime Sale page showed ¥64,900 instead of ¥92,900 for a promotion dated July 5–25, and marked the product sold out. Do not rely on an advertised percentage off by itself. Compare the final checkout total—including shipping and tax where shown—with current prices for comparable newer systems. “Exclusive” is justified only when a code or offer is demonstrably restricted to the publisher’s audience.
What should the listing tell you before you buy?
The product name alone is not enough to identify the computer you would receive. Listings differ on the processor label, and the XT12 Pro family’s maximum supported memory and storage are not necessarily included in a particular bundle.
- Seller and region: Check whether the seller is GEEKOM or an authorized retailer, and whether the offer ships to the United States.
- Exact processor: Look for the full model number—such as Core i9-12900H or i9-12900HK—or the i7-12650H variant. Do not assume these labels refer to the same SKU. A retailer listing, for example, names the i9-12900HK: Best Buy listing.
- Included memory and storage: Confirm the installed RAM capacity and SSD capacity, not just what the platform supports.
- Operating system: Verify that Windows 11 Pro is included if that matters to you.
- Total cost and timing: Check the final checkout price, shipping, stock, coupon conditions, and expiration date. The available information does not establish a current U.S. offer’s tax treatment or delivery terms.
- Returns and warranty: Read the terms for the specific seller and country. GEEKOM regional product material advertises a three-year limited warranty, but that does not prove the same coverage applies to every U.S. marketplace purchase.
Ask the seller to clarify any missing specification before checkout. An “i9,” “up to 64GB,” or “up to 2TB” headline does not establish the CPU model, included RAM, or installed drive.
What does the XT12 Pro offer?
GEEKOM’s published specifications describe an i9 configuration built around the Intel Core i9-12900H, a 14-core, 20-thread mobile processor with a listed 35W TDP. The i9 version uses Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics; the i7-12650H version is listed with Intel UHD Graphics. Because both CPU labels and graphics configurations vary by version, verify the SKU rather than applying one model’s specifications to another. GEEKOM’s materials identify USB4. Do not assume that means Thunderbolt 4: the terms are related but not interchangeable, and the exact SKU documentation should govern any compatibility requirement. Is it a good fit for your work?
Office, programming, and multitasking
The i9 version’s processor, small chassis, and support for multiple displays can make it a capable compact desktop for office applications, browser-heavy work, programming, and general workstation duties. The practical value depends on the deal’s included RAM and SSD: a model-family maximum does not tell you what is in the box.

Photo and video work
It can handle photo editing and moderate 4K video editing, but integrated Iris Xe graphics are not a substitute for a discrete GPU. If your creative applications depend heavily on GPU acceleration, or you render for long periods, a different system may be a better fit.

Think light gaming or older games, not a modern AAA gaming machine at high settings. The i9 label describes the CPU tier; it does not change the integrated graphics limitation.
Long, heavy workloads
A compact enclosure can deliver strong short bursts without maintaining the same pace indefinitely. If your main use is all-core rendering or other sustained CPU work, cooling behavior and noise deserve more weight than a brief benchmark result.
How does it behave under sustained load?
In a 2024 test, CNX Software recorded CPU temperatures reaching about 97°C initially before settling around 89–91°C during an all-thread stress test. The reviewer measured approximately 37.8–41.3 dBA at idle and 49.5–54.7 dBA under full stress at close range. These are results from that test setup, not a promise about every unit or room: CNX Software’s XT12 Pro review.
Notebookcheck also reported high temperatures under load and sustained power settling around 35W, limiting long-duration turbo performance. Its review said GEEKOM was addressing a thermal-pad issue in later batches. That batch-specific note makes it unwise to assume that every unit has the same thermal behavior—or that every later unit has identical results: Notebookcheck’s review.

The published design provides two removable DDR4 SODIMM slots and two storage positions: one M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe slot and one M.2 2242 SATA slot. The secondary position is SATA, not another NVMe slot. Before buying an additional drive, check whether the deal’s configuration already occupies either position and confirm the drive’s form factor and interface.

GEEKOM lists support up to 64GB of RAM, a primary drive up to 2TB, and a secondary SATA drive up to 1TB. These are stated platform limits, not included components. The official specification page provides the published limits; the listing determines what you receive.
Does it work with Linux?
CNX Software tested the XT12 Pro with Ubuntu 24.04 and kernel 6.8.0-31-generic. In that test, Intel graphics, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, audio, and NVMe storage were detected. That is useful evidence for this configuration, not a universal guarantee for every Linux distribution, kernel, firmware revision, or device variant.
GEEKOM’s support portal provides XT12 Pro Windows drivers, Windows 11 reinstallation files, and a user guide: GEEKOM support and downloads. If you plan to replace Windows with Linux, retain the recovery information you may need to restore the supplied operating system. There is no verified current price here from which to calculate a fair-value threshold or a discount percentage. The $699 price was the April 2024 launch price for a specific 32GB/1TB Windows 11 Pro configuration; it should not be treated as the XT12 Pro’s current fair value. Before buying, compare the checkout total for the exact configuration against newer AMD and Intel mini PCs with similar memory and storage.
- Consider it if the verified price is materially below comparable newer systems, you want a compact Intel desktop, and the seller provides clear local returns and warranty terms.
- Compare newer AMD mini PCs if you prioritize newer integrated graphics, gaming performance, or performance per watt. Exact capabilities vary by model, so compare the specifications of the systems you are considering.
- Compare newer Intel Core Ultra mini PCs if newer platform features, efficiency, or an NPU matter more than buying older hardware at a discount.
- Consider a business desktop from Lenovo, HP, or Dell if enterprise service and fleet support matter more than the XT12 Pro’s very small footprint.
- Skip or pause if the seller will not confirm the processor variant, included components, returns, or warranty—or if the final price is close to newer alternatives.
