Check Point Acquired Cyberint: What the Deal Means

Check Point announced its agreement to acquire Cyberint on August 27, 2024, and completed the acquisition on September 30, 2024. Cyberint’s external threat intelligence and risk-management capabilities were incorporated into Check Point’s Infinity Platform and managed services; the product is now presented on its website as Check Point Exposure Management (formerly Cyberint).

What Check Point acquired

Check Point said Cyberint Technologies Ltd. specialized in external risk management, threat intelligence, digital risk protection and attack surface management. Its offering was designed to help organizations identify threats and exposures visible from outside their networks, rather than replace the internal security controls they already operate.

  • Identify vulnerable internet-facing websites and applications, then help prioritize and mitigate the risks.

Check Point also described AI-assisted risk detection, contextual alerts and managed services. These are the acquirer’s descriptions of the product, not independently measured results.

When the acquisition happened

Date Milestone
August 27, 2024 Check Point announced a definitive agreement to acquire Cyberint, with closing subject to customary conditions and expected by year-end.
September 30, 2024 Check Point’s SEC filing says the acquisition of all outstanding Cyberint shares was completed.
October 1, 2024 Check Point publicly announced that the acquisition had been completed.

The legal completion date was September 30; October 1 was the date of Check Point’s public announcement.

How Cyberint fits into Check Point

In its October 2024 completion announcement, Check Point said Cyberint’s capabilities were included in its Infinity Platform and managed services. That brings external discovery and threat intelligence into a broader security-platform and service offering, according to the company.

The branding has changed since the deal closed. A March 31, 2025 Check Point release referred to the offering as Check Point External Risk Management. At the time of Check Point’s current product-site wording, it is presented as Check Point Exposure Management, formerly Cyberint. The naming shift reflects the product’s integration and branding; it does not establish that every component or service is unchanged or available under the same terms as before the acquisition.

What Check Point said about the deal

Check Point’s stated rationale was to extend its Security Operations Center capabilities and managed threat intelligence offerings. Chief Services Officer Sharon Schusheim said in the completion announcement that adding Cyberint’s “real-time exposure analysis” to Infinity would provide customers with proactive threat intelligence and exposure management. That describes the company’s intended benefit, not evidence of independently verified post-acquisition outcomes.

The August 2024 announcement said Cyberint had more than 170 employees worldwide and was founded in 2010. Those figures were provided by Check Point and were not presented as independently audited workforce data.

How to interpret the performance claims

Check Point’s acquisition announcement claimed Cyberint could provide actionable intelligence within 20 minutes after setup, but did not define the measurement conditions or provide independent verification. Treat that as a vendor-stated capability, not a guaranteed response time.

Cyberint CEO Yochai Corem said in the same announcement that “over 90% of organizations” faced threats from leaked credentials and malicious fake websites. The statement was attributed to Corem in Check Point’s press release; the announcement did not provide methodology for the figure, so it should not be read as an independently established prevalence rate.
