There was no U.S. bond trading on Monday, October 12, 2026, so Treasury yields did not post a new Monday observation. The latest figures on the U.S. Treasury’s daily curve are for Friday, October 9: the 10-year Treasury constant-maturity yield was 5.24%, and the 30-year yield was 5.60%.

Why Monday had no new Treasury yield reading

Monday, October 12, 2026, had no U.S. bond trading, according to the Associated Press. That means the latest Treasury curve observation remained Friday’s October 9 data; “Monday” describes the calendar date, not a trading session with a new yield close.

The Federal Reserve’s H.15 release illustrates why it is important to check the observation date rather than relying only on a release date. The release dated October 9 shows rates observed on October 8, including a 10-year CMT of 5.22% and a 30-year CMT of 5.60%. The Treasury curve’s October 9 observation instead shows 5.24% for the 10-year and 5.60% for the 30-year. The one-day difference reflects different observation dates, not contradictory rates for the same date. H.15 is normally published on weekdays at 4:15 p.m. and is not posted on holidays or when the Federal Reserve Board is closed.

What the Treasury yield figures represent

Treasury CMT yields are interpolated from the daily par yield curve at fixed maturities. Treasury constructs that curve using indicative bid-side quotations on recently auctioned securities in the over-the-counter market. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York obtains the quotations at or near 3:30 p.m. on trading days; they are indicative quotes, not completed transactions. Since December 6, 2021, Treasury has used a monotone convex spline to fit its official nominal curve.

Because the CMT is a fitted curve value, it is useful for comparing maturities and tracking market conditions, but it is not the same thing as the quoted yield on a particular Treasury security. A specific security’s price and yield can differ from the curve’s constant-maturity figure.

Why Treasury yields were moving

The Associated Press reported that the 10-year Treasury yield rose from 5.22% late Thursday to 5.24% Friday, after yields moved up and down over the week. Its report described investor concerns about inflation, the federal government’s debt load, and continuing economic growth. It also said demand at recent Treasury auctions was helping limit further yield increases. Those are reported market considerations, not a measured breakdown of how much each factor changed yields.

Read the AP’s Friday market report for that context, and its Monday report for the no-trading-day clarification.
