There is no single SBA login for every service. Start at the official SBA login directory, identify what you need to do, and use the matching portal. Borrowers, certification applicants, federal contractors, lenders, and SBA partners may all use different accounts.

How to access the SBA Loan Portal
The SBA Loan Portal supports applications and servicing for specified SBA loans. SBA identifies the following uses:

- Payments and documents for SBA disaster loans, including COVID-19 EIDL and physical-loss loans.
- Payments for PPP loans when the loan is a guaranty-purchased loan.
- Payments for 7(a) loans when they are guaranty-purchased and SBA-serviced.
- Payments for 504 loans when the debenture has been purchased.
- Go to sba.gov/login.
- Select SBA Loan Portal.
- Choose the sign-in or account-creation option displayed on the live portal.
- Use the credentials associated with the borrower account.
The borrower-facing Loan Portal has replaced CAFS for the stated payment and loan-detail functions, but CAFS has not disappeared. It remains relevant to authorized lenders and partners. If your loan is missing, check its type, servicing status, and whether SBA has purchased or transferred it into an SBA-serviced category.

Some loans must instead be managed through Pay.gov or directly through the lender. PPP forgiveness is another exception: if the lender participates in SBA direct forgiveness, the direct-forgiveness route may apply; otherwise, contact the lender.
MySBA Certifications: 8(a), HUBZone, and other certifications
Use MySBA Certifications for applications involving:
- 8(a) Business Development
- HUBZone
- Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business certification
- Women-Owned and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business certification
Start from SBA’s official portal directory. If you previously used another certification page, do not assume those credentials automatically work in MySBA Certifications. The current certify.SBA.gov sign-in page specifically directs 8(a) users to MySBA Certifications and says that users who have never signed in there must create an account.

certify.SBA.gov is currently designated for Mentor-Protégé users. It is not the general login for every SBA certification program.
For registration, the site says the business must have a SAM.gov account. The person registering must be the firm’s owner or legal representative and have signature authority. The registration begins with the applicant’s name and email address.

SAM.gov is a separate federal system. Creating an SBA account does not create a SAM.gov account, and needing SAM.gov for one workflow does not mean every SBA account requires it.
The certify.SBA.gov login page says three failed attempts automatically lock the account for 15 minutes. Stop guessing, use the site’s recovery process, and wait for the lockout period rather than repeatedly trying passwords.

The Capital Access Financial System (CAFS) is intended for authorized SBA internal and external stakeholders, including lenders and partners. It is generally not the right destination for an ordinary borrower checking loan payments or documents.
The current CAFS page presents fields for a User ID and password phrase, a terms-and-conditions acknowledgment, and login. It says internal staff should use their official agency email through single sign-on, while external stakeholders must use a registered email address. Enrollment and role approval may be required.
CAFS provides separate recovery routes:
Both recovery pages request an email address and CAPTCHA text. CAFS documentation also says accounts may be deactivated after 90 days of inactivity. That rule is specific to CAFS/MySBA documentation and should not be generalized to every SBA account.

A CAFS notice displayed recertification dates of June 22 through July 21, 2026, for certain accounts created before June 22. Because that period has ended, users should check the live CAFS notice for their account status rather than rely on an old deadline.

SBA single sign-on
SBA’s single-sign-on page provides centralized access to listed applications, including MySBA Certifications, Small Business Search, SBICWeb, SBIR, Nexus, formerly EDMIS, and Boots to Business.
This does not prove that every SBA program shares one identity or one password. Treat it as a central access page for the applications SBA lists there—not as a universal SBA account.
Troubleshoot common SBA login problems
“I do not know which portal I need.”
Return to sba.gov/login and classify the task as a loan, certification, contracting profile, or lender/partner function. Do not choose a portal solely because its name contains “SBA.”
“My password does not work.”
Use the recovery link for the exact system. Credentials from CAFS, the Loan Portal, MySBA Certifications, certify.SBA.gov, and SAM.gov should not be assumed to be interchangeable.

“My account is locked.”
For certify.SBA.gov, three failed attempts cause a 15-minute lockout. Other portals may use different policies. Avoid repeated guesses and follow that portal’s recovery instructions.
“The browser is unsupported.”
Use a current mainstream browser and follow the warning shown by the live portal. CAFS has displayed unsupported-browser notices, but fixed browser-version advice can become stale.
“My loan is not visible.”
Confirm that the loan type and servicing status fit the Loan Portal’s supported categories. Some payments belong in Pay.gov or with the lender, and not every SBA-backed commercial loan will appear in the SBA Loan Portal.
“I was redirected to SAM.gov.”
That is a separate federal system used for entity registration and some contracting or certification workflows. Complete any required SAM.gov steps there, but do not mistake SAM.gov for the SBA login.
“The page looks suspicious.”
Close it and begin again at sba.gov/login. Verify the domain before entering credentials. Do not pay a third party simply to create or access a free government account.

- Start from an official sba.gov page rather than a sponsored search result.
- Check the complete domain before entering a password.
- Use only the portal’s own recovery and support links.
- Never share passwords, password phrases, verification codes, or recovery details with a purported SBA agent.
- Be cautious of services charging merely to access an SBA portal.
