The Central Bank of India reopened applications for 484 Safai Karamachari cum Sub-Staff and/or Sub-Staff posts from June 21 to June 27, 2024. That recruitment was later cancelled following a Bombay High Court order, and the bank subsequently announced fee refunds for eligible applicants. It is not an active vacancy.
What happened to the 484-post recruitment?
The employer was the Central Bank of India—not the Central Bureau of Investigation. Its 2024–25 recruitment notification, issued December 19, 2023, listed 484 Safai Karamachari cum Sub-Staff and/or Sub-Staff vacancies. The bank reopened online registration, candidate edits and fee payment for June 21–27, 2024. Its reopening notice said candidates who had already registered did not need to apply again. The bank later posted fee-refund information. The planned examination and local-language test should therefore not be treated as upcoming. Cancellation notice.

What were the application fees, and were refunds announced?
The June 2024 reopening notice listed a fee inclusive of GST of Rs. 175 for SC/ST/PwBD/EXSM candidates and Rs. 850 for other candidates. The bank later announced that full application fees/intimation charges would be refunded to eligible applicants. A bank page in 2025 set February 22, 2025 as the deadline; that date has passed. The notices establish the refund policy and historical deadline, not the payment status of any individual applicant. For an individual case, contact the bank through its current official channels.
