The warnings classified both as unauthorised entities—not as firms found guilty of fraud.
The CNMV said neither entity was authorised to provide specified investment or auxiliary services in Spain, including services involving financial instruments such as foreign exchange. The warnings remain visible in the CNMV’s online database.
What the CNMV warning says
The individual CNMV notices state that the two entities did not have the required authorisation to provide the investment services covered by Article 140 of Spain’s Securities Market Law. They also lacked authorisation for the auxiliary services listed in Article 141(a), (b), (d), (f) and (g).
The notices refer to financial instruments covered by Article 2, including foreign-exchange transactions. The warnings were issued under Article 17(2) of the Securities Market Law, whose consolidated text was approved by Royal Legislative Decree 4/2015 of October 23.

In practical terms, the regulator’s finding was that these entities were not authorised to offer the specified investment services in Spain. The CNMV’s public notice also said the entities did not appear in the relevant official register.

The CNMV lists Traders Way and IGF Investment as separate warned entities with different corporate names. The warning does not say that they shared owners, were affiliated, or belonged to the same corporate group. Their appearance in the same regulatory notice is not evidence that they were the same company.
This is an unauthorised-entity warning, not a fraud conviction
The CNMV notices establish a lack of authorisation for the services described. They do not, in these notices, make a judicial finding that either entity committed fraud, stole client money, or operated as a criminal enterprise.
That distinction matters when assessing what the warning means. A firm can be described accurately as being warned by the CNMV for allegedly providing investment services without authorisation. Calling it a proven fraudster would go beyond the wording of the regulator’s notices.

The warning is nevertheless serious for a prospective customer. The CNMV explains that unauthorised firms operate outside the controls established by supervisory authorities and carry a high risk of loss. Customers may not have the protections associated with dealing with an authorised investment firm, and the regulator may have limited ability to help recover funds.
The warning is from 2019, not a new 2026 action
The CNMV database continues to show both entries with the date 02/12/2019:

No later observation or update is displayed in those database entries. The latest available CNMV entry for these two names remains dated December 2, 2019. Any article presenting this as a newly issued warning would be inaccurate.
Does a live website change the warning?
No. The domain identified in the Traders Way warning, www.tradersway.com, was live when checked on August 8, 2026. It identified itself as Trader’s Way and described an MT4 ECN forex-trading service.

A website continuing to operate does not cancel a historical regulatory warning or demonstrate authorisation in Spain. Website availability, trading-platform access, and claims made on a broker’s own pages are not substitutes for checking a regulator’s official register.
The CNMV warning identifies www.igfinvestment.com as the IGF Investment website. The notice does not state that the domain was later transferred, closed, or relaunched under another operator.
How to check a broker before sending money
Use the CNMV’s register and warning database separately. A firm’s absence from the warnings database does not prove that it is authorised.
- Go to CNMV → Inversores y Educación Financiera → Orientación para el inversor → Entidades Autorizadas.
- Open the CNMV’s official registers and search for the firm’s exact legal name, trading name, website, and contact details.
- Confirm that the firm is authorised for the particular service being offered. Authorisation for one activity does not automatically cover forex, CFDs, portfolio management, investment advice, or another service.
- Check the separate route: CNMV → Inversores y Educación Financiera → Advertencias (entidades no autorizadas y otras entidades) → Buscador de entidades advertidas.
- Search using all or part of the name, then compare the result with the firm’s website, legal entity, email address, and bank-account details.
The CNMV specifically cautions that an authorised firm is not necessarily authorised for every investment activity. The name on a website may also differ from the legal entity in the regulator’s records, so checking only a brand name is not enough.

What a potential customer should do
If you are considering an account with either named entity, pause before depositing money and verify the entity independently through the CNMV’s official registers. Do not treat a regulated-sounding brand, a trading platform, or a claim of overseas licensing as proof of Spanish authorisation.
If money has already been sent, preserve the account statements, payment confirmations, emails, chat messages, telephone numbers, website addresses, and identity documents provided during onboarding. Contact the bank or card provider promptly to ask what recovery or chargeback procedures may be available. Also report the matter to the relevant authorities. Avoid paying an additional “release fee”, “tax”, or “recovery charge” to anyone promising to retrieve the funds.
