The original action was dated June 25, 2018 and concerned www.protradefx.com.
A later CONSOB order, issued on February 6, 2019, also covered the Italian-language domain it.protradefx.com and several related websites. These actions are important for anyone researching the broker, but they should be described accurately: CONSOB’s documented finding was unauthorized investment activity in Italy—not a criminal fraud conviction, a worldwide ban, or proof that every customer lost money.
What CONSOB’s ProTradeFX warning said
CONSOB determined that ProTradeFX was providing investment services to the Italian public without the authorization required by Article 18 of Italy’s Consolidated Law on Finance, known as the TUF.
The regulator used its authority under Article 7-octies, paragraph 1(b), to order an unauthorized online operator to stop the activity. In practical terms, the order meant ProTradeFX could not lawfully offer those investment services to Italian customers without the appropriate Italian or European authorization.

The 2019 order covered more than one domain
It would be incomplete to discuss only the original www.protradefx.com warning. On February 6, 2019, CONSOB adopted Resolution No. 20806, covering a group of related websites. The list included:
https://it.protradefx.comhttps://procapitalfx.comhttps://it.probtctrade.comhttps://it.btcglobefx.comhttps://firstfxclub.comhttps://it.smartbtcfx.comhttps://capitalfxclub.comhttps://it.capitalbtcfx.comhttps://cryptoclubfx.comhttps://gamebtcfx.comhttps://it.360smartfx.comwww.smartprofx.com
The 2019 order directed the operators to cease violating Article 18 of the TUF through those websites. The distinction between the two actions matters:
- June 25, 2018: the action concerned
www.protradefx.com. - February 6, 2019: Resolution No. 20806 covered
it.protradefx.comas part of a broader group of associated websites.
What ProTradeFX reportedly offered
Contemporaneous broker-industry reporting described ProTradeFX as an online forex and CFD broker. That reporting associated the operation with Game Capital Ads Limited and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Those corporate details come from secondary reporting, not from the CONSOB order identified above. They should therefore be treated as reported background rather than as findings made by the Italian regulator.
The same reports described the websites as targeting traders in Italy and Middle Eastern markets. However, the precise regulatory finding is narrower and more important: CONSOB said the operator was offering investment services to the Italian public without the authorization required under Italian law.

Does the CONSOB warning mean ProTradeFX was a scam?
Not precisely. CONSOB’s action established that the relevant investment services were being offered in Italy without authorization. It did not, based on the documented record, amount to a criminal fraud conviction or a formal finding that every customer had been defrauded.
That distinction does not make the warning unimportant. Authorization is a basic consumer-protection issue. A properly authorized investment firm is generally subject to regulatory requirements covering areas such as conduct, disclosures, client funds, complaints, and supervision. An operator that is not authorized for the market it is targeting does not have that regulatory status in Italy.
Consumers should avoid converting the warning into claims that the evidence does not support. The careful description is:
CONSOB ordered ProTradeFX to stop offering investment services to the Italian public without authorization.
Was ProTradeFX banned worldwide?
No. CONSOB’s jurisdiction was Italy, and the orders addressed the offering or conduct of investment services toward the Italian public under Italian law. The action was not a worldwide prohibition.

A warning from one national regulator can still be relevant to customers elsewhere, particularly if a broker uses the same branding, websites, company information, or payment instructions. But customers in another country must also check the warning lists and authorization registers maintained by their own regulator.
Was the warning issued in 2023?
No. The principal ProTradeFX action dates to June 25, 2018. The related-domain order dates to February 6, 2019.

What should a potential customer check?
If you are considering a broker that uses the ProTradeFX name or an associated domain, do not rely solely on its website, trading platform, or claimed foreign registration. Use this checklist:
- Search your regulator’s register. Confirm the exact legal entity, trading name, domain, and permitted services.
- Check the regulator’s warning database. Search both the brand name and every domain used to solicit your business.
- Match the company details. Compare the legal name, registered address, email addresses, phone numbers, and bank-account beneficiary.
- Do not treat incorporation as investment authorization. A company may exist in a jurisdiction without being licensed to provide forex or CFD services.
- Be cautious with urgent payment demands. Requests for additional deposits to release withdrawals, pay taxes, or unlock an account are significant warning signs.
- Preserve evidence. Save account statements, transaction IDs, emails, chat messages, website screenshots, and payment records if you have already sent money.
- Contact your payment provider quickly. Ask whether a card chargeback, bank recall, or other payment dispute is available. Do not pay a supposed recovery agent upfront.
Current listing status is not the same as authorization
ProTradeFX does not appear in the latest CONSOB warning entries returned by the regulator’s public warnings page as of August 8, 2026. That absence should not be interpreted as a clearance, approval, or current authorization.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHow to characterize the regulatory record
The most defensible summary is that CONSOB warned against ProTradeFX on June 25, 2018 and ordered it to stop offering investment services to the Italian public without authorization. On February 6, 2019, CONSOB issued Resolution No. 20806 covering the related Italian-language domain it.protradefx.com and several associated websites.
The record supports a conclusion about unauthorized investment activity in Italy. It does not, by itself, support claims of a criminal fraud conviction, a worldwide ban, or losses suffered by every customer.
