Verdict: IQCent is not a broker I would recommend to UK investors. It has the warning signs of a high-risk offshore trading platform: limited regulatory transparency, aggressive promotion, difficult-to-verify corporate information and products that can cause rapid losses. That does not prove every IQCent customer is being deliberately defrauded, but it does mean you should not treat IQCent like an FCA-authorised UK broker.

If you have been contacted unexpectedly by someone claiming to represent IQCent, or you are being asked to pay a fee before withdrawing money, stop sending funds. Check the firm independently and contact your bank immediately.

What is IQCent?

IQCent presents itself as an online trading platform offering products such as forex, cryptocurrencies, commodities, indices and CFDs. It has also been associated with short-term, fixed-return trading products that resemble binary options.

These are speculative products rather than ordinary investing. You do not generally own the underlying share, currency or cryptocurrency. Instead, you are betting on a price movement or entering a leveraged contract. A small market move, spread, fee or expiry condition can turn a trade into a total loss.

The important question for a UK customer is not simply whether the website opens or whether the trading software works. It is whether a clearly identified legal entity is authorised to provide the specific service in the customer’s country, and whether the customer has meaningful access to complaints and compensation protections.

Is IQCent regulated in the UK?

IQCent should not be assumed to be regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. A broker serving UK customers legitimately must be checked on the FCA Financial Services Register using the firm’s exact legal name and website details.

Do not rely on:

  • An FCA number displayed on IQCent’s website or supplied by a salesperson.
  • A logo claiming membership of a private regulator or dispute-resolution body.
  • A registered-company certificate from another country.
  • Search-engine advertisements, online reviews or screenshots of supposed licences.

The FCA Register is the relevant starting point for UK authorisation. A genuine authorisation record should match the business name, trading name, website, telephone details and permitted activities. Clone firms frequently copy the identity of a legitimate company but substitute their own website and contact details.

Even if IQCent identifies an overseas company or claims some form of international registration, that is not equivalent to FCA authorisation. It may also mean that UK protections such as the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme do not apply.

Why IQCent raises concern

Several features warrant caution before depositing money:

Warning sign Why it matters
Unclear or offshore corporate structure You may struggle to identify the entity legally responsible for your account or pursue a complaint.
High-risk CFDs, forex, crypto or short-term trades Leverage and rapid price movements can wipe out a deposit quickly.
Large bonuses or guaranteed-return language Promotions may come with turnover conditions that make withdrawals difficult.
Pressure to deposit more “Account managers” may encourage larger deposits after an initial trade or loss.
Withdrawal friction Requests for extra deposits, taxes, insurance or release fees are common scam indicators.
Limited independent oversight A platform’s own claims about security and fairness are not a substitute for effective regulation.

None of these points alone proves that a particular transaction is fraudulent. Together, however, they make IQCent unsuitable for anyone who expects the standards, supervision and protections associated with a mainstream UK investment platform.

Could IQCent be a scam?

There are two separate issues:

  1. The platform itself: IQCent appears to operate as a high-risk online trading service, but its regulatory position and customer protections are not clear enough to give a UK investor confidence.
  2. Impersonation and recovery scams: Fraudsters may use the IQCent name, fake support accounts or copied websites. A person claiming to be from IQCent may also be unrelated to the genuine website.

It is therefore safer to describe IQCent as unregulated or inadequately regulated from a UK customer’s perspective and extremely high risk, rather than making an unsupported claim that every account or trade is a scam. The practical conclusion is the same: do not deposit money unless you can independently verify the legal entity, regulator, terms and withdrawal process.

How to check IQCent before depositing

  1. Find the full legal company name in the site’s terms and conditions, not just the brand name.
  2. Search that exact name on the FCA Register. Check whether the listed website is the same domain you are using.
  3. Search the FCA’s warning list for IQCent and related company names.
  4. Check the regulator in the jurisdiction where the company claims to be based. Use the regulator’s own website, not a link supplied by the broker.
  5. Read the withdrawal, bonus, inactivity and account-closure provisions before opening an account.
  6. Confirm whether the products are CFDs, binary-style contracts or another derivative. Do not assume “trading” means you own an investment.
  7. Never allow a salesperson remote access to your computer or phone, and never share banking passwords, one-time codes or wallet recovery phrases.

Use the website address typed manually into your browser. A padlock only shows that the connection is encrypted; it does not show that the business is authorised or honest.

IQCent fees, leverage and bonuses

Charges and trading conditions can change, so prospective customers should read the current contract rather than rely on an old review or promotional page. Look specifically for:

  • Bid-ask spreads and commissions.
  • Overnight financing or swap charges.
  • Cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal charges.
  • Minimum withdrawal amounts.
  • Verification requirements and processing times.
  • Bonus wagering or trading-volume conditions.
  • Maximum leverage and forced-liquidation rules.
  • Rules allowing the broker to cancel trades or close an account.

Bonuses are particularly dangerous. A “100% deposit bonus” is not free money if the terms require many times the deposit and bonus to be traded before a withdrawal is permitted. If the platform says you must pay an additional tax, insurance premium, validation fee or unlock charge to release your balance, do not pay it. Legitimate tax is normally handled through the relevant tax process, not by sending a second payment to an unknown broker to unlock your own money.

What protection would a UK customer have?

If a firm is not authorised for the service it provides, the normal protections associated with an FCA-regulated investment firm may not be available. That can include access to the Financial Ombudsman Service and FSCS compensation, depending on the circumstances and the specific failed entity.

FSCS protection is also not insurance against investment losses. Even with an authorised broker, it does not reimburse you simply because a cryptocurrency, share, CFD or forex trade fell in value. It generally relates to eligible compensation situations, such as an authorised firm failing and being unable to return protected client assets, subject to the applicable rules and limits.

What to do if you already deposited money

  1. Stop depositing. Do not send money to meet a withdrawal demand or recover a supposed negative balance.
  2. Save evidence. Keep emails, chat messages, wallet addresses, bank details, transaction references, screenshots and the website address.
  3. Contact your bank or card provider. Explain that you may have been the victim of an investment scam. Ask whether a card chargeback, bank recall or other fraud process is available.
  4. Report it. UK residents can report suspected fraud to Action Fraud. Report unauthorised financial promotions to the FCA as well.
  5. Secure your accounts. Change passwords, enable two-factor authentication and tell your bank if you disclosed personal or security information.
  6. Ignore recovery agents. Someone promising to recover your trading balance for an upfront payment may be running a second scam.

Cryptocurrency transfers are difficult to reverse, but you should still notify the exchange used, provide the transaction hash and report the destination wallet. Fast action gives your bank and other providers the best chance of tracing or stopping funds.

Safer alternatives for UK investors

For long-term investing, compare brokers that appear on the FCA Register under the correct legal entity and offer transparent Stocks and Shares ISAs, pensions or dealing accounts. Check the total cost, investment range, custody arrangements and complaint process.

For derivatives, remember that FCA authorisation does not make leveraged trading safe. Read the broker’s percentage of retail accounts that lose money on CFDs, understand margin calls and use a regulated firm whose address and permissions can be independently confirmed. Most people do not need leverage to build a diversified investment portfolio.

FAQ

Is IQCent a legitimate broker?

IQCent is an online trading platform, but UK customers should not treat it as an FCA-authorised broker. Its regulatory position and customer protections are not sufficiently clear to make it a suitable choice for most investors.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is IQCent authorised by the FCA?

Do not assume so. Search the FCA Financial Services Register using IQCent’s exact legal entity, website and contact details. A licence claimed on the website is not proof of UK authorisation.

Can I get my money back from IQCent?

Contact your bank or card provider immediately and ask about fraud procedures, chargeback or a bank recall. Do not pay an additional withdrawal, tax, insurance or recovery fee without independent advice.

Does IQCent offer real investments?

The platform promotes speculative trading products such as CFDs, forex, cryptocurrency and short-term contracts. These generally do not give you ownership of the underlying asset and can produce rapid losses.

Should I pay an IQCent withdrawal fee?

Be very cautious. A demand to deposit more money before releasing your balance is a major scam warning sign. Contact your bank and obtain independent advice instead of paying.

What is the safest way to check a broker?

Use the regulator’s official register, match the exact legal name and website, read the terms and avoid unsolicited approaches. Never verify a firm using only a phone number, link or licence image provided by a salesperson.

The Bottom Line

IQCent is not a credible choice for a UK investor seeking a regulated broker. Its high-risk trading products, unclear regulatory standing and potential lack of UK protections outweigh any attractive platform features or promotional offers. If you have already deposited, stop sending money, preserve the evidence and contact your bank and Action Fraud promptly.
