Koch is a privately held, Wichita-based company with businesses in consumer products, industrial manufacturing, agriculture, energy, technology, logistics and investing. Its public portfolio includes Georgia-Pacific, Molex, Guardian Industries, Infor and other businesses—but the phrase “owned by the Koch brothers” can be misleading: Koch’s current public pages describe the company as privately held without stating the family’s ownership percentages or voting rights.
What businesses are in Koch’s portfolio?
Koch’s public portfolio spans companies that make familiar household products and businesses that mainly supply materials, software, services or technology to other organizations. The table is a guide to the businesses Koch currently highlights publicly, not a complete inventory of every legal subsidiary.
| Business | What it does |
|---|---|
| Georgia-Pacific | Paper-based consumer goods and packaging, cellulose, building products and recycling. |
| Guardian Industries | Float glass and coated or fabricated glass products for buildings, vehicles and technical uses. |
| Infor | Industry-focused business cloud software. |
| INVISTA | Chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers used in products such as automotive components, medical equipment, airbags, food packaging and clothing. |
| KBX Logistics | Freight, transportation and transportation-asset-management services. |
| Koch Ag & Energy Solutions | Agriculture, energy and chemicals, including fertilizer, agronomic services, energy services and methanol. |
| Koch Engineered Solutions | Industrial services and technologies, including mass transfer, combustion and emissions control, process technology, engineering and construction, asset integrity, and utility-scale solar and energy storage. |
| Koch Minerals & Trading | Commodity exchange and delivery, including metals, ocean freight, natural gas and other commodities. |
| Koch Investment Companies | Investment and acquisition activity across a range of industries. |
| Molex | Electronics and connectivity products for markets including automotive, data centers, industrial automation, health care, 5G, cloud and consumer devices. |
| i360 | Data, technology and analytics services. |
Koch also describes products and services connected with health, food and agriculture, shipping, software and energy. Taken together, the range makes Koch a diversified conglomerate rather than simply an energy company.
Which Koch businesses make products consumers recognize?
Georgia-Pacific is the clearest household-name example
Georgia-Pacific makes paper towels, bath tissue, napkins, tableware and paper-based packaging, as well as cellulose and building products. Its familiar consumer brands include Angel Soft, Brawny, Dixie, enMotion, Quilted Northern, Sparkle and Vanity Fair. Georgia-Pacific Recycling also trades paper, metal and plastics.

Much of the portfolio serves businesses
Other Koch businesses are less visible to shoppers because they supply industrial materials, components, software, freight or technical services. For example, INVISTA’s polymers and fibers go into products made by other companies, while Infor sells business software and Molex supplies electronics and connectivity products to several industries. A company in Koch’s portfolio is not necessarily a consumer brand in its own right.
Does “owned by the Koch brothers” accurately describe the companies?
It is common shorthand, but it is not precise enough to establish who owns what. Koch describes itself as privately held, and Georgia-Pacific as privately owned by Koch, Inc. The public pages reviewed do not state current Koch family ownership percentages or voting rights. They also do not establish that every business listed above is directly owned by individual family members.

It is therefore more accurate to describe these as businesses in Koch’s portfolio or group than to assign them all to individual family members. The public portfolio is a useful map of Koch’s businesses, but corporate structures can change and the page should not be treated as a definitive legal-subsidiary list.
How large is Koch, and how should its figures be read?
In its company overview current as of 2026, Koch reports annual revenue above $125 billion, about 130,000 employees and operations in more than 50 countries. Koch says revenue fluctuates with commodity prices. These are company-reported figures, not independently verified or audited figures presented here.

Koch’s growth overview, also current as of 2026, says it reinvests 90% of earnings and that its value has grown more than 9,000-fold since 1960. Those are Koch’s own descriptions of its growth and reinvestment approach, not independent measurements supplied here.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What changed in Koch’s organization?
Koch announced a subsidiary realignment that formed Koch Solutions around Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, Koch Engineered Solutions, Koch Minerals & Trading, their subsidiaries and Koch’s stake in Colonial Pipeline. The same announcement identified Georgia-Pacific, Molex, Guardian Industries and Infor as unaffected Koch-operated companies at that time. That announcement documents a reorganization; it should not be taken as proof that every entity’s current legal status remains unchanged.
