The properties differ in purpose and ownership structure: some are described as residences, while others are tied to investors or investment firms. Available reporting does not establish a complete, independently verified list of what Dell currently owns or a reliable total portfolio value.

Texas: a family residence and a separate ranch
The Castle near Austin
Forbes Brasil places The Castle in West Lake Hills, near Austin, and says Dell built the home in the 1990s. The reported property exceeds 3,000 square meters and includes eight bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a tennis court, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a view of Lake Austin. The report gives no transaction price, so there is no supported purchase figure to compare with the other properties.
Rancho 6D in the Hill Country
Rancho 6D is a distinct property a few kilometers from the Austin-area home. Forbes Brasil describes it as just under 600 square meters and says “6D” refers to the six members of the Dell family. The ranch is associated in the report with Arabian horses and possible hunting use; architecture is credited to Gwathmey Siegel and construction to White Construction.
Forbes Brasil attributes to The Nation a valuation above $70 million in the mid-2000s. That is a historical, secondhand figure, not evidence of the ranch’s value today.

New York and Boston: two reported penthouses
One57 in Manhattan
Forbes Brasil reports that Dell paid about $100.7 million for a One57 penthouse in 2014; the Wall Street Journal identified him as the buyer in 2018, according to Forbes Brasil. The two-level apartment spans floors 89 and 90 and is described as 1,015 square meters, with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a sauna, library and private cinema. The purchase was reported as New York’s most expensive home sale at the time. That time-bounded claim should not be read as a statement about today’s record.
Millennium Tower in Boston
A different kind of ownership trail appears in Boston. The Boston Globe reported in December 2016 that a Suffolk County property record showed a $10.9 million purchase of a Millennium Tower penthouse and two parking spaces by a company reportedly handling investments for the Dell family. The paper described Dell as the reported buyer. A purchase through an investment company supports an association with the family, but does not by itself establish that the property was titled directly to Dell.

Hawaii: a residence is separate from land investments
Raptor Residence at Kukio
At Kukio on Hawaii’s Big Island, Forbes Brasil describes the Raptor Residence as more than 1,700 square meters across three lots, with seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and five half-bathrooms. The report gives an estimate above $64 million, but the available account does not independently establish a current market value.
Land and resort interests
The reported September 2025 purchase of nearly two million square meters of Hawaiian land for approximately $400 million is separate from the Kukio residence. Forbes Brasil attributes that account to SFGate and characterizes the land purchase as investment-oriented. The reporting does not show that every parcel is a home or that Dell holds the land alone.
Rank #3
Forbes Brasil also reports that a group of investors including Dell acquired the land under Four Seasons Hualalai in August 2025; the resort land had previously been leased. That is a shared investment interest, not evidence that Dell personally owns the whole resort. The same article says the Four Seasons resort in Wailea, Maui, was acquired in 2004 for $280 million and has 383 rooms.
Why the investment portfolio is broader than a list of homes
Forbes Brasil connects Dell’s real-estate exposure to DFO Management, formerly MSD Capital, and BDT & MSD Partners. Dell is described as an investor in BDT & MSD, not its sole owner. The firm’s activity therefore should not be added to a personal-property tally as if every project or asset belonged to Dell individually.
Rank #4
The article reports that BDT & MSD manages roughly $17 billion across real estate and credit. That figure refers to the manager’s reported activity, not Michael Dell’s personal real-estate value. The article also discusses a Boca Raton resort acquisition and refinancing, as well as projects at Knox Street in Dallas and Naples Beach Club in Florida. Those are examples of activity associated with an investment manager and its vehicles, not a verified schedule of Dell’s personal holdings.
One historical company investment illustrates why dates and status matter: Forbes Brasil reports that a roughly 8.7% stake in Safehold was purchased in 2022 for about $200 million. A later SEC filing detailed a possible resale but did not confirm that a sale occurred. The reported stake is historical; the available account does not establish current ownership.

What can—and cannot—be concluded about the portfolio
- Reported residential properties span the Austin area, Texas Hill Country, Manhattan, Boston and Hawaii, with distinct uses ranging from a family home and ranch to urban penthouses.
- Some figures are transaction prices, some are dated estimates, and others describe the scale of an investment manager’s activity. They are not interchangeable measures of current value.
- Several resort and land interests involve groups, investment firms or entities associated with the Dell family. The reporting does not establish sole ownership for those assets.
- The reviewed reporting does not provide a verified total portfolio valuation or a complete current ownership schedule.
The broad inventory and investment context above are reported by Forbes Brasil on September 24, 2026; the Boston transaction detail comes from The Boston Globe’s December 2016 report. Property holdings can change, and these reports do not amount to deed-level verification of every listed asset.
