The $799.99 price was a real, specific offer—but it was a February 1, 2025 Best Buy deal, not a verified price available now. It covered the 13-inch Surface Pro 11th Edition with Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. The keyboard and stylus were sold separately, so the deal price was not the cost of a complete laptop-style setup.
What the $799.99 deal actually covered
HotHardware reported that Best Buy was selling the Surface Pro 11th Edition configuration for $799.99 on February 1, 2025, a $200 reduction from its then-listed price. The offer was for the device itself. [HotHardware’s February 1, 2025 deal report]
- Model: Microsoft Surface Pro Copilot+ PC, 11th Edition
- Screen: 13-inch, 2880 × 1920 resolution, with refresh rates up to 120Hz
- Processor: Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100, a 10-core chip
- Memory and storage: 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 256GB SSD
- Not included: Keyboard and stylus
Microsoft’s 11th Edition specifications identify the Snapdragon X Plus X1P64100 and a 45-TOPS NPU, and list the 13-inch display’s resolution and refresh rate. The same specification information is available in Microsoft’s Surface Pro Snapdragon tech specs and 11th Edition fact sheet.
Was it a good deal?
At the price HotHardware reported, the offer paired 16GB of RAM with a modern Snapdragon X Plus processor in Microsoft’s 13-inch Surface Pro. That makes the device price attractive for someone who specifically wanted this configuration and was comfortable with its software compatibility and tablet-first design. It was less straightforward for someone who needed a complete laptop replacement: the keyboard and pen were separate purchases, and their cost would raise the total.

HotHardware said it had not reviewed the exact version in the deal. Its report therefore establishes the offer and listed specifications, not a hands-on verdict about performance, build quality or day-to-day battery life.
Budget for the accessories and check compatibility
Because the deal did not include a keyboard or stylus, compare the cost of the complete setup—not just the tablet price—with alternatives you are considering. Microsoft lists Surface Pro Flex Keyboard compatibility for the 11th Edition. Confirm that any keyboard or pen listing names the 11th Edition or otherwise explicitly supports your exact Surface Pro before buying; accessories for a different generation or screen size should not be assumed to fit.

The product’s battery life was reported as up to 14 hours, but that is not a promise of a particular runtime for every buyer. Microsoft says its battery estimates use preproduction devices and controlled video-playback or web-browsing tests, and that actual results vary. Your workload and settings can change the result.

The 2025 offer was for a 13-inch 11th Edition. It is not the first-generation 12-inch Surface Pro with Snapdragon X Plus, and it is not the second-generation 12-inch model with Snapdragon X2 Plus announced in September 2026. Microsoft’s September 23, 2026 announcement describes the later X2 Plus generation. Check the screen size, edition and processor in a listing before comparing its price with the historical $799.99 offer.

What to check before spending
- Confirm the exact model: Look for Surface Pro 11th Edition, 13-inch, Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD—not a 12-inch model or a different configuration.
- Price the full setup: Add a compatible keyboard and any pen you need to the tablet price. The reported offer did not include them.
- Check your software: Snapdragon systems run Windows on ARM. Verify that essential applications, peripherals and any work or school software you depend on support your intended setup.
- Review the live offer terms: Confirm current stock, final price, return window and any price-protection terms directly with the retailer. The reported $799.99 price and $200 saving were tied to the February 2025 offer, not an ongoing guarantee.
