The first reported Best Buy listing for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 was a PNY card priced at $299.99, according to HotHardware on May 6, 2025. That was one cent above NVIDIA’s announced $299 starting price for the desktop RTX 5060—and the card was not yet released, so the listing was not an in-stock deal readers could buy that day.
What was listed, and when?
HotHardware reported that the PNY GeForce RTX 5060 was the first—and at that time the only—RTX 5060 shown on Best Buy. The May 6, 2025 report gave the listing price as $299.99 and said the product was not yet released. The price therefore marked an early retailer listing, not proof of immediate availability or a completed purchase at that price.
The report described the card as factory-overclocked and attributed these specifications to the listing: 8GB of GDDR7 memory, a 2.28GHz base clock, and a 2.54GHz boost clock. Those are listing details, not independently tested performance results.
How did $299.99 compare with NVIDIA’s announced price?
NVIDIA announced a $299 starting price for the desktop GeForce RTX 5060 in April 2025. The PNY listing was exactly one cent higher, while remaining below the familiar $300 threshold. A manufacturer’s starting price is a baseline, not a guarantee that every partner model will be available at that price or that a particular retailer will keep its listing there.

NVIDIA also announced separate starting prices for the RTX 5060 Ti: $379 for the 8GB version and $429 for the 16GB version. Those are prices for a different graphics card and should not be confused with the $299 RTX 5060 starting price.
When did the RTX 5060 become available?
HotHardware updated its May 6 report with NVIDIA’s release timing: May 19, 2025, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (12 p.m. Eastern). NVIDIA’s May 19 “Out Now” announcement directed shoppers to its GeForce RTX 5060 Product Finder as partner cards and PCs appeared at retailers. The original Best Buy listing preceded that stated release timing.

What does Best Buy’s later catalog show?
A Best Buy catalog snapshot accessed October 4, 2026 showed multiple RTX 5060 partner brands, including PNY, ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, and ZOTAC, with different displayed prices. In that snapshot, a PNY Overclocked 8GB card appeared at $449.99, while an MSI listing at $375.99 was marked sold out. These are volatile catalog observations, not fixed market prices or equivalent purchasable offers; prices and availability may vary by seller or region.
How to compare current listings without treating the old price as a deal
The May 2025 $299.99 listing is historical and should not be used as a current price quote. Before deciding whether a live listing fits your budget, check the actual checkout price and whether the card is in stock. Compare the exact model rather than relying on the RTX 5060 name alone.
- Exact board and SKU: Confirm the manufacturer and model so you are comparing the same card variant.
- Memory and clocks: Check the listed memory capacity and clock specifications; factory-overclocked models can differ.
- Fit: Verify the card’s dimensions and slot width against your case and available expansion space.
- Seller and fulfillment: Confirm who is selling it, whether it is available to order, and the delivery or pickup terms.
- Price at checkout: Use the current price for the exact item, not a historical launch listing or a sold-out offer.
What the listing does—and does not—say about performance
The early listing establishes a reported model, price, and set of specifications. It does not establish how fast that PNY card performs or whether it is a better value than another GPU. No independent benchmark or hands-on test of this specific PNY SKU is established here, so the listed factory overclock alone is not a sound basis for a performance or value claim.
