The IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card is a $350-a-year U.S. card with hotel-use food-and-beverage vouchers, airline credits, a capped anniversary free night, automatic Platinum Elite status and 20 Elite Night Credits. It may suit travelers who can use those benefits at IHG properties, but its headline credits are not equivalent to cash and its points should not be compared at face value with another hotel program’s. The right comparison is whether your usual stays, spending and travel plans let you use each card’s benefits.
What does the IHG Premier Select cost and include?
IHG and Chase announced the card on October 1, 2026. Chase lists a $350 annual fee. Its headline benefits include up to $300 in annual Food & Beverage Rewards, a $200 airline statement credit, up to $50 in United TravelBank cash, a capped anniversary free night, automatic Platinum Elite status and 20 Elite Night Credits per calendar year. See IHG and Chase’s launch announcement for the announced benefits and Chase’s current card terms for live details.
The annual dollar amounts are maximums, not a guaranteed $550 reduction in the card’s cost. Each benefit has conditions, and the food-and-beverage rewards are quarterly vouchers for use at IHG hotels rather than unrestricted cash.
Credits depend on how you travel
- Food and beverage: Chase describes the $300 annual maximum as four $75 vouchers, one per quarter, redeemable at IHG hotels. A voucher only offsets spending you would otherwise make there, and quarterly timing may limit how much you use.
- Airline statement credit: Chase says the $200 credit applies after at least $250 in qualifying flight purchases booked directly with an airline in each calendar year, through December 31, 2027. Check the current terms for eligible purchases and any activation requirements.
- United TravelBank: This is separate from the airline statement credit and requires registering the card with a MileagePlus account. Treat it as useful only if you can use United TravelBank cash.
- Anniversary free night: The certificate is capped, so compare its terms with the cash price and award availability at an IHG property you would actually book. The announcement does not establish that every hotel or date will be available for it.
Separate card earnings from loyalty-program earnings
Chase advertises up to 28X total points per dollar on IHG stays. That combines 12X from the card, up to 10X from IHG One Rewards membership and up to 6X from Platinum Elite status. It is not a 28X card-only earn rate. The value of the points also depends on where and when you redeem them.

How does it compare with other chain cards?
There is no single best hotel card for every traveler. A card tied to a chain is most compelling when its properties match your destinations and its certificates, status and credits fit your booking habits. Chase’s comparison page lists the IHG Premier, the no-annual-fee IHG card, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and the World of Hyatt Credit Card as alternatives; it does not establish a universal winner or provide complete current terms for every hotel-chain card. See Chase’s hotel-card comparison listings and verify each issuer’s live terms before applying.
| Card or group | Annual fee established in Chase comparison | What the available comparison supports |
|---|---|---|
| IHG One Rewards Premier Select | $350, per IHG and Chase’s October 1, 2026 launch announcement | Launch benefits and card terms described above; check Chase’s live page for current details. |
| IHG One Rewards Premier | $150, listed by Chase in 2026 | A lower-fee IHG alternative. Compare its current benefits and terms on Chase’s page rather than assuming they match the Select card. |
| No-annual-fee IHG card | No annual fee, as identified in Chase’s comparison | A listed lower-cost IHG option; assess its current benefits and earning terms directly. |
| Marriott Bonvoy Boundless | $95, listed by Chase in 2026 | A Marriott-linked alternative. Its full current benefits and certificate terms are not established by the fee listing alone. |
| World of Hyatt Credit Card | Not stated in the cited Chase comparison material | Listed by Chase as an alternative; consult the issuer for current fee, benefits and award terms. |
| Hilton and other chain cards | Not stated in the cited Chase comparison material | Current full terms are not established here; use the relevant issuer’s current product page for a like-for-like comparison. |
How can you decide which card fits?
1. Start with the hotels you actually book
List the chains with suitable properties in the cities you visit, then consider how often you stay with each. A certificate or status benefit has little practical value if you rarely have a reason to stay at that chain or cannot find an available property where you need one.

2. Estimate usable benefits, not advertised maximums
For each card, count a credit only when its booking rules, timing and eligible purchases fit your normal spending. For the IHG card, account for the quarterly $75 hotel vouchers, the direct-with-airline purchase requirement for the airline credit and the separate registration requirement for United TravelBank. Do not count a benefit at face value if it would make you spend more, change your travel plans or expire unused.
3. Compare award rules and status against your stays
Check each card’s certificate cap and whether points can be added to a certificate, then look for award availability at properties you would book. Compare status benefits with the stays you expect to make; an elite tier matters only when it improves trips you actually take. Hotel points are different currencies, so comparing equal point totals does not establish equal value.

4. Include the fee, spending offer and opportunity cost
At the time of Chase’s 2026 listing, the Premier Select offer was 200,000 points after $5,000 in qualifying purchases in the first three months. That is a volatile offer, and eligibility conditions apply; confirm the live offer and its full terms before relying on it. Also consider whether the required spending is already in your budget and what you give up by putting purchases on a hotel card instead of a flexible-points or cash-back card.
Calculate your own likely value using only benefits you expect to redeem, your actual hotel choices and a reasoned estimate of what you would otherwise pay. No independent statistical comparison establishes an average consumer value for these cards, so issuer benefit totals should not be treated as audited savings.

When does the Premier Select make sense?
It is a stronger candidate if you regularly choose IHG hotels, can use the quarterly vouchers and airline credit without changing your spending, value the anniversary night under its cap, and expect Platinum status or the Elite Night Credits to improve stays. A lower-fee IHG card may fit better if you want to earn within the same hotel program but would not use enough of the Select card’s added benefits. A card from Marriott, Hyatt or another chain may fit better when that chain’s hotels and award options line up more closely with your trips.
Before applying, verify the annual fee, benefit mechanics, welcome-offer eligibility and certificate terms on the issuer’s current page. The launch announcement and Chase comparison listings are U.S.-product information checked on October 4, 2026; card terms and offers can change.
