Those problems have different fixes. For an online-service restriction, call Wells Fargo Online Customer Service at 1-800-956-4442 and ask what is restricted and whether you can request reinstatement. Wells Fargo does not guarantee that access will be restored.
Identify what Wells Fargo has restricted
Note the exact message and where it appears before troubleshooting. A page that will not load is different from a notice that Wells Fargo Online access has been suspended, and both are different from a debit card that is declined or blocked.

If the problem appears to be your browser or device
Wells Fargo says browser configuration and cached files can contribute to certain website errors. Check that your browser is supported and has required settings enabled, including JavaScript and cookies. Also check whether the Wells Fargo website has been added to the browser’s restricted-sites list; clearing cached files may help with a page-loading problem. Follow the bank’s browser troubleshooting steps for your situation.
These steps address website access on a device. They do not lift a restriction Wells Fargo has placed on an online service or account.

If Wells Fargo Online or payments are restricted
- Call Wells Fargo Online Customer Service: 1-800-956-4442. The Online Access Agreement identifies this number for online-access questions and requests for reinstatement.
- Ask what is affected: find out whether the restriction applies to sign-on, a particular account, or Transfer & Payments Service, and what transactions, if any, remain available.
- Ask what Wells Fargo needs: confirm whether the bank requires identity verification or other account information before it can explain or review the restriction.
- Ask whether reinstatement can be requested: Wells Fargo’s Online Access Agreement, effective May 21, 2026, says, “We are not required to reinstate or re-activate your access.” Reinstatement is therefore not guaranteed.
For Transfer & Payments Service, Wells Fargo may approve or deny reinstatement. If it restores the service, it may initially impose lower transaction limits or other restrictions. The agreement reviewed here is effective May 21, 2026; it identifies a later version scheduled to take effect November 24, 2026.
If the debit card is the issue
Use the support route for the card type rather than assuming an online-access restriction explains a declined card. Wells Fargo lists 1-800-869-3557 for personal debit-card support and 1-800-225-5935 for business debit-card support in its Debit Card FAQs.

What to do if online services are unavailable
Wells Fargo’s Online Access Agreement describes calling, using an ATM, or visiting a branch as possible ways to obtain account information during some online-service outages. That guidance does not establish whether a particular account is restricted or whether a specific withdrawal, transfer, purchase, or other transaction will work. Ask Wells Fargo what remains available for your account rather than assuming access to funds or transactions is unaffected.
