Broadcom’s latest reported results and management’s Q4 FY2026 outlook point to continued rapid growth, led by AI semiconductors. But the outlook is guidance, not a guarantee, and analyst price targets span a wide range. The most useful way to assess AVGO is to weigh the company’s growth expectations against execution, accounting, customer and debt risks—not to treat any one target as a dependable forecast.
What Broadcom’s latest results say about the forecast
Broadcom reported Q3 FY2026, ended August 2, 2026, on September 2. Revenue was $29.591 billion, up 86% year over year. Semiconductor solutions revenue rose 127% to $20.839 billion, while infrastructure software revenue rose 29% to $8.752 billion. The faster semiconductor growth makes the near-term outlook especially sensitive to demand for AI-related products.
Broadcom reported GAAP diluted earnings per share of $2.68 and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $3.32. It generated $14.197 billion in operating cash flow and $13.665 billion in free cash flow, and had $24.0 billion in cash and cash equivalents at quarter end. Those results show substantial cash generation alongside strong reported growth; they do not, by themselves, establish what the shares are worth.
What management expects in Q4 FY2026
For the quarter ending November 1, 2026, Broadcom guided to approximately $34.8 billion in revenue and non-GAAP operating income equal to approximately 66% of projected revenue. CFO Amie Thuener said Q4 revenue growth was forecast to increase 93% year over year and that the company expected to maintain a 66% non-GAAP operating margin, flat from a year earlier.

CEO Hock Tan said Q3 AI semiconductor revenue was $16.7 billion, up 221% year over year and 54% quarter over quarter. He said the company expected Q4 AI semiconductor revenue to reach $21.7 billion, up 236% year over year. That figure is management’s forward-looking expectation, not a reported result. Broadcom cautioned that “Actual results will vary from the guidance and the variations may be material.” Broadcom’s September 2, 2026 results release provides the company’s reported figures and guidance.
What analyst price targets indicate—and what they do not
A StockAnalysis.com consensus snapshot last updated October 2, 2026, attributed to S&P Global Market Intelligence and TipRanks, reported a “Strong Buy” consensus label from 50 analysts and an average one-year target of $531.85. The same snapshot listed a low target of $215.88, a high of $715, and an October 2 closing price of $355.14.

The range is wide enough that the average alone hides important disagreement about growth, execution and valuation. These are aggregated analyst estimates, not Broadcom guidance, a guaranteed future price, or an independent valuation. The figures are a dated snapshot and can change as analysts update estimates and share prices move. See the StockAnalysis.com AVGO forecast page.
What could support or weaken the outlook
AI demand and semiconductor growth
The bullish case depends heavily on Broadcom converting strong demand for custom AI accelerators and networking into the revenue growth management expects. Q3’s semiconductor solutions growth and the Q4 AI revenue outlook are substantial, but future results depend on customer demand, timing and Broadcom’s ability to deliver.

Software growth and adoption
Infrastructure software grew more slowly than semiconductor solutions in Q3, though its 29% year-over-year increase was still strong. Future performance also depends on customers’ acceptance of Broadcom’s software offerings, their competitiveness, and execution through product and business transitions.
Cash generation and adjusted earnings
Free cash flow is useful context alongside revenue and earnings because it shows cash remaining after capital spending. Investors should still compare cash generation with debt obligations and avoid treating a single quarter as a durable run rate. For earnings, keep GAAP and non-GAAP measures distinct: Broadcom’s non-GAAP adjustments include stock-based compensation, acquisition-related intangible amortization, restructuring, acquisition and integration costs, tax adjustments and other items. The company says exclusions do not mean those costs are necessarily non-recurring, and non-GAAP measures are not substitutes for or superior to GAAP measures.

Key risks to include in an AVGO forecast
- Semiconductor cyclicality: Industry conditions can shift, including as AI changes demand patterns.
- Customer concentration and order timing: Losing significant customers or changes in the timing and volume of demand could affect results.
- Supplier dependence: Contract manufacturing and reliance on a limited number of suppliers expose production to supply constraints.
- Software execution: Adoption, competition, cybersecurity and integration or transition challenges could weigh on software results.
- Debt and macro or policy changes: Debt service, global economic conditions, regulation and trade restrictions may affect performance.
Broadcom identifies these and other uncertainties in its forward-looking statements; the list is not exhaustive. The company’s investor-relations materials include its filings and related risk disclosures.

- Check reported results against guidance. When the Q4 FY2026 results are available, compare actual revenue, margins and AI semiconductor revenue with the September 2 outlook rather than treating guidance as achieved.
- Separate the business lines. Track whether semiconductor growth remains strong and whether infrastructure software growth is sustained; the two segments have different growth rates and risks.
- Compare earnings on the same basis. Put GAAP EPS beside non-GAAP EPS, review the adjustments, and avoid comparing an adjusted figure with a GAAP figure as if they were equivalent.
- Look beyond profit to cash and obligations. Consider operating and free cash flow alongside debt service and the cash balance, across more than one reporting period.
- Read analyst targets as a range, not a verdict. Note the snapshot date, number of analysts and spread between low and high estimates. A consensus label or average does not resolve the disagreement or establish a fair value.
The available figures support a scenario-based view of Broadcom, not a defensible single intrinsic-value estimate. A more optimistic case requires AI demand and delivery to keep meeting expectations while software growth and cash generation remain healthy. A less favorable case could follow from weaker or delayed customer demand, supply constraints, software execution problems, or broader economic and regulatory pressure.
