You can buy Ethereum’s PEPE token through a centralized exchange that supports it in your region, or by swapping through a compatible self-custody wallet and decentralized exchange. Neither route makes PEPE safe as an investment: first confirm you have the right token, understand who controls access to your funds, and check every transaction before approving it.
Which PEPE token does this guide cover?
This guide is about PEPE, the ERC-20 token on Ethereum—not every coin or token that uses “Pepe” in its name. A ticker or token name alone does not prove that an asset is authentic. A secondary buying guide lists Ethereum contract 0x6982508145454Ce325dDbE47a25d4ec3d2311933; before a wallet or DEX transaction, compare the contract with a trusted on-chain explorer and the official asset page of the service you are using. Token support and listings can change. Binance’s PEPE buying guide is one reference for the contract and buying routes, but confirm details independently.
Choose between an exchange and a wallet swap
The main decision is whether to rely on a platform to hold your purchase or manage access yourself. Availability, eligibility, supported networks, and features vary by service and location. Check the provider’s current PEPE and regional information before depositing money or sending tokens.
| Route | Who controls access? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Centralized exchange | The platform holds or administers the exchange balance; account access depends on its systems and policies. | Whether PEPE is available to you, the correct asset and network, current fees and order preview, and the network and address if you withdraw. |
| Self-custody wallet with a swap service or DEX | You control the wallet keys and recovery phrase, and are responsible for keeping them safe. | Wallet and network compatibility, the token contract, swap quote, slippage, gas, destination, and any token spending approval requested. |
| Hardware wallet for self-custody | You control the keys through the wallet setup; the device does not remove your responsibility for backups or transaction approvals. | Ethereum compatibility and whether the device suits your needs. It is optional, not a requirement to buy PEPE, and cannot prevent every phishing or signing mistake. |
For exchange custody, consult the provider’s current asset, fee, and withdrawal pages rather than assuming a listing or network is available in your country. Binance’s guide describes buying on-platform and withdrawing to a self-custody wallet; when withdrawing, the user must match the destination address and network. For self-custody, Ethereum.org’s wallet directory can help you find wallet options, but it does not establish a universal best wallet or hardware device.

How to buy PEPE through a centralized exchange
- Verify the platform and your eligibility. Navigate to the exchange using an address you have independently confirmed, not a sponsored search result or unsolicited message. Check whether the service offers PEPE to customers in your location.
- Confirm the asset. On the exchange’s official asset page, verify that the listing is the Ethereum PEPE you intend to buy. Do not rely on the ticker alone.
- Review costs and execution. Before placing an order, inspect the order preview and the exchange’s current fee information. Consider the displayed price and spread as well as any later withdrawal fee; costs are provider- and transaction-specific.
- Choose and review the order. Understand the order type and the price at which it may execute. Check the amount and final preview before confirming.
- Decide whether to keep the balance on the platform or withdraw. If withdrawing, verify that the exchange supports the intended network, then check the full destination address and network match your wallet. Do not send based on a copied address you have not verified.
How to buy PEPE using a self-custody wallet and swap
- Set up an Ethereum-compatible wallet. Obtain the wallet through its verified official site or app listing. Write down its recovery phrase and keep it offline in a secure place. Never share it with anyone claiming to be support.
- Fund the wallet with the correct assets. Use a service and network you have verified. You may need ETH for Ethereum network gas, in addition to the asset you plan to swap. Check the receiving address and network before sending.
- Open a trusted swap service or DEX directly. Avoid links in DMs, unsolicited social replies, ads, and token “claim” promotions. Check the site address carefully before connecting your wallet.
- Verify PEPE before selecting it. Confirm Ethereum as the network and compare the contract address with a trusted explorer and the service’s official asset information. Names and tickers can be copied by unrelated tokens.
- Review the quote and transaction. Check the amount to be received, price impact or slippage information, gas estimate, destination, and any message your wallet asks you to sign. Do not approve a transaction you do not understand.
- Limit token spending approval. A swap may ask you to authorize a contract to spend a token. Set the allowance to what is needed rather than granting unlimited spending permission where the wallet or service permits a choice.
- Confirm only after checking the details. Ethereum transactions are irreversible. Once signed and broadcast, a mistaken transfer or approval may not be recoverable.
Protect your keys, account, and transaction
- Keep recovery phrases and private keys private. Ethereum.org warns: “Never, for any reason, share your recovery phrase or private keys!” A person or service asking for them is a scam warning, including someone claiming they can recover lost funds.
- Use independently verified links. Start from a manually checked official exchange, wallet, or DEX address. Avoid unsolicited DMs, social replies, and links promising free PEPE or a claim.
- Check before you sign or send. Verify the asset, network, contract, destination, and transaction message. A valid-looking token name or familiar logo is not enough.
- Keep a secure offline backup. If you lose access to a self-custody wallet and its recovery phrase or keys, access may be permanently lost. A hardware wallet does not eliminate this risk or make unsafe signing safe.
- Do not assume a platform or wallet guarantees recovery. Exchange account processes and self-custody recovery differ; neither should be treated as insurance against a bad transfer, compromised credentials, or a poor market outcome.
Ethereum.org’s security and scam-prevention guidance explains key and transaction safety. For the optional hardware-wallet route, its hardware wallet page lists providers without naming a universally best device.

Buying PEPE is speculation, not a way to secure a return. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission advises caution: “Buying digital coins or tokens only because you expect to sell them at a higher price later is the definition of speculation and carries considerable risk, regardless of how good a white paper, application or business plan sounds.” Read the CFTC customer advisory before risking money you cannot afford to lose.

Gemini’s PEPE disclosure says the token has no defined utility and that its value may depend on continued market demand, which could fall enough to result in a total loss. This is the exchange’s risk disclosure, not a prediction of what PEPE will do. Read Gemini’s PEPE information and risk disclosure alongside the general token risks; a purchase route, wallet, or exchange listing does not reduce the asset’s market risk.
