1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsChoose the services and tiers that cover your household’s actual watch list at a price you can justify—not the ones you assume have the biggest catalogues. As of October 4, 2026, listed US monthly prices run from $8.99 for Paramount+ Essential and $10.99 for HBO Max Basic with Ads to $13.99 and $22.99 for their respective top tiers. Those are separate subscriptions: the reviewed provider information does not confirm a Paramount+/HBO Max bundle.
Is there a Paramount+ and HBO Max bundle?
HBO Max’s official plan page references a Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle, but does not list a Paramount+ and HBO Max package. Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery announced that their merger was expected to close on October 6, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. The announcement does not establish that the transaction has closed or that a joint streaming subscription is available. Check the services’ current checkout pages before making a decision.
Until providers publish actual terms, compare Paramount+ and HBO Max as separate subscriptions. A corporate merger announcement is not a consumer bundle offer.

#1 Best Overall
| Service and plan | Monthly price | Features relevant to choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Paramount+ Essential | $8.99 | Entry plan. Check the provider’s current plan page for the precise features and restrictions that apply to your account. |
| Paramount+ Premium | $13.99 | Includes the Showtime library, downloads, and a live local CBS feed; on-demand programming is described as ad-free, while live TV has ads. |
| HBO Max Basic with Ads | $10.99 | Entry plan; two concurrent streams. |
| HBO Max Standard | $18.49 | Two concurrent streams and 30 downloads; select live sports included. |
| HBO Max Premium | $22.99 | Four concurrent streams, limited to two for sports; 100 downloads; 4K and Dolby Atmos where available; select live sports included. |
At the two entry tiers, subscribing to both costs $19.98 per month before tax. At the two premium tiers, the total is $36.98 per month before tax. The plans are not feature-equivalent, so compare the specific services and tiers you would actually use rather than treating those totals as a like-for-like package.
Paramount+ advertises up to three simultaneous streams. Its Premium plan includes downloads. Feature availability can depend on the title and service, so confirm that a particular show, film, or device supports the feature you need.

Check your household’s actual watch list
Paramount+ promotes programming from CBS, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and VH1. HBO Max is associated with HBO and Warner Bros. programming. Those lineages can help you identify what to search for, but they do not establish how many titles overlap or whether a particular title is currently on both services.
- Write down the shows, films, sports, and live programming each household member expects to watch in the next billing period.
- Search each service’s current catalogue for those exact titles. Availability can change, so do not assume a title is included based on a brand association or an old listing.
- Mark which titles are available on both, only one, or neither service. Count only confirmed, current availability when deciding whether a subscription is worth its cost.
If one service has nearly all the household’s must-watch content, the other may not be worth keeping continuously. If its few unique titles can wait, subscribing for a month when they are available may cost less than paying year-round.

Match the plan tier to how you watch
Ads and live viewing
Paramount+ Premium is described as ad-free for on-demand programming, but live TV has ads. HBO Max Basic with Ads is the service’s entry advertising tier. HBO Max Standard and Premium include select live sports, according to its plan page. “Ad-free” should not be read as a guarantee that every live feed, trailer, or sponsorship is ad-free; check the current plan terms and the programming you watch.
Streams and downloads
Count how many people may watch at once, not just how many accounts you have. HBO Max Basic with Ads and Standard allow two concurrent streams; Premium allows four, but only two for sports. Standard includes 30 downloads and Premium 100. Paramount+ advertises up to three simultaneous streams, and its Premium plan includes downloads.
Rank #4
Picture, sound, and sports
HBO Max Premium includes 4K and Dolby Atmos where available, while select live sports are listed for Standard and Premium. These benefits matter only if your household has compatible devices and watches content offered in those formats. Confirm title-level availability rather than assuming every programme supports 4K, Atmos, downloads, or live features.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Compare annual billing carefully
A 2026 TechRadar comparison lists Paramount+ annual prices of $89.99 for Essential and $139.99 for Premium. Those figures are not provider checkout quotes; verify the current annual price, renewal amount, billing provider, and cancellation terms before paying upfront. Annual plans tie up more money and can be poor value if you expect to watch for only a few months.
Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
To assess an annual option, compare its current total with the monthly cost for the number of months you genuinely expect to subscribe. Include any taxes or offer conditions shown at checkout, and check how renewal and cancellation work for the billing provider you choose.
Quick Recap
Use a simple keep, switch, or pause rule
- Keep both if each has distinct programming your household will watch during the same billing period and the combined recurring cost fits your budget.
- Choose one if one service covers nearly all your current must-watch titles, or if the other is only needed for a title you can watch in a later month.
- Downgrade a tier if no one uses the higher tier’s downloads, extra streams, picture or audio quality, live sports, or other included features.
- Recheck after October 6, 2026 for confirmation that the announced merger closed and for any provider-announced subscription or bundle terms. The expected closing date and the merger announcement alone do not confirm either outcome.
