WLFI holders can vote on certain protocol decisions, but that vote is limited: it does not make holders owners of the company, give them rights to company profits, or ensure that every approved proposal is implemented.
What is World Liberty Financial?
World Liberty Financial presents itself as a crypto and decentralized-finance platform. Its website, reviewed on October 4, 2026, promotes governance and staking with WLFI, potential USD1 rewards, tools to bridge tokens between integrated networks, and conversion tools. It also describes using crypto through a wallet or bank account, while labeling its app “Coming Soon.” These are the project’s own descriptions of its products and availability, which may change.
The project distinguishes two digital assets: WLFI, associated with governance, and USD1, described as a stablecoin. A stablecoin’s stated purpose is not proof that it has continuously traded at its intended value; the project pages reviewed do not independently establish USD1’s peg performance.
WLFI and USD1 serve different stated functions
| Asset | Stated function | What the available project documents establish |
|---|---|---|
| WLFI | Governance token | The Gold Paper describes one vote per token, subject to a 5% votable-supply cap. This does not establish circulating supply or company ownership. |
| USD1 | Stablecoin | The project’s FAQ distinguishes it from WLFI. The reviewed pages do not establish ongoing peg performance. |
What can WLFI holders vote on?
WLF’s governance page says token holders can propose, review, and vote on proposals. The Gold Paper frames WLFI voting as participation in certain protocol governance decisions, not as a vote over the company itself. It describes one vote per WLFI token, subject to a 5% cap on votable supply.

The project’s own documents also set boundaries around those votes:
- The WLF FAQ says World Liberty Financial LLC administers the protocol and determines the multisig signers.
- The FAQ says proposals that could create legal or security risks can be disallowed. It also describes circumstances involving material adverse events or security risks in which governance control can shift to multisigs.
- The Gold Paper says protocol upgrades are manually completed by a WLF multisig. A successful vote therefore does not, by itself, guarantee automatic implementation.
- The Gold Paper says the governance platform does not control the company.
The FAQ states: “World Liberty Financial LLC is a Florida limited liability company (“WLFI”). WLFI administers the WLF Protocol that allows token holder voting for certain WLF Protocol governance decision making.” It also says: “WLFI is not a DAO or an organization of any kind.” These are statements in the company’s FAQ, not independent legal analysis.

Does staking WLFI give you ownership or guaranteed rewards?
No. The WLF FAQ says: “No. Staking does not give you ownership in World Liberty Financial or rights to its profits or revenues.” The website promotes potential USD1 rewards linked to staking and governance participation, but describes them as potential rewards, not a guaranteed return. Staking should not be confused with owning part of the company or receiving its business revenue.
What do the token supply and company filings show?
AI Financial Corporation’s 2025 Form 10-K, filed with the SEC in 2026, describes WLFI as designed for governance functions and states a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. That is a maximum-supply figure from the company’s filing, not a statement of how many tokens are circulating or available to buy.

AI Financial Corporation’s 2026 Form 10-Q reports that it held 7,283,585,650 WLFI tokens as of June 27, 2026, subject to contractual lock-up provisions. The filing describes two groups:
- 3,533,585,650 tokens subject to a 12-month non-transferability provision, with limited permitted uses.
- 3,750,000,000 tokens subject to a separate 12-month lock-up, with release conditions that include stockholder approval, a charter amendment, and the effectiveness of a resale registration.
These terms describe AI Financial Corporation’s specific holdings and contracts. They do not establish the transfer restrictions that apply to every WLFI holder.

What has been reported about Trump’s role and financial proceeds?
The Gold Paper’s supporting-team section names Donald J. Trump as Co-Founder Emeritus and Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Barron Trump as co-founders. It says Donald Trump and Steven Witkoff were removed from that list upon taking office. This is what the Gold Paper states; it should not be treated as a complete, current account of the project’s ownership or management.
On June 30, 2026, the Associated Press reported that Trump’s annual financial disclosure showed more than $500 million in proceeds from World Liberty Financial crypto product sales in the prior year. That is a reported disclosure figure, not a calculation of net profit, current token value, or present-day net worth.

What WLFI ownership does—and does not—mean
WLFI can provide a limited role in certain protocol votes under the project’s governance rules. The company’s own materials reserve administrative and implementation powers, and they explicitly distinguish staking and token voting from company ownership. A maximum token supply, a corporate holding, or reported sales proceeds also does not by itself establish a token’s circulating supply, market value, or investment performance.
