You can contact Bank of America by phone, through Online Banking or the mobile app, or at a financial center. Choose the route—and phone number—that matches your account type and issue. For lost cards or suspected fraud, use the bank’s security contact instructions rather than a general directory listing.
1. Call the number for your account or issue
For general checking and savings account information, Bank of America lists 800.432.1000. Its checking and savings support page posts live-agent hours of Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–11 p.m. ET, and Saturday–Sunday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET. Have your card or account number available; the bank says it will be required.
That number is not a universal line for every Bank of America service. Credit cards, mortgages, fraud, and other products can have separate contacts, so check the bank’s official contact page for the product and issue before calling.
Calling from outside the United States
International instructions differ by account type and reason for calling. For checking and savings, the bank lists 1.315.724.4022 for international collect calls and notes that roaming charges may apply. For international credit-card calls, its FAQ says to dial the country’s AT&T Direct access code followed by 302.738.5719. Check the applicable official contact page before dialing; do not assume one overseas number works for every service.

2. Use Online Banking or the mobile app
Bank of America’s customer-service hub directs customers to online self-service for tasks such as disputing a transaction, transferring money, paying bills, resetting a password, and updating contact information. For account-specific matters, sign in and use the available secure options.
Check whether chat is available
- Sign in to Online Banking.
- Open Help & Support, then select Contact us.
- Choose the topic that matches your question.
- If the option appears, select Chat now.
Chat is offered only for some products and services, and access may depend on agent availability. If it is not shown for your topic, use another contact option on the bank’s official site or in its app.

3. Visit a financial center
Use Bank of America’s official financial-center locator to find a nearby branch. You can also schedule an appointment if you want a set time to discuss an account or financial concern. Check the center’s details before traveling, especially if you need help with a particular service.
For a lost or stolen card
Use the number that matches the card type: Bank of America lists 800.432.1000 for a lost or stolen ATM/debit card and 800.732.9194 for a lost or stolen credit card. For international calls about ATM/debit cards, its security page lists 1.315.724.4022; for credit cards, it lists 1.302.738.5719. Check the bank’s security page or sign in to Online Banking for current instructions, and act promptly if a card is missing or you suspect unauthorized activity.

Bank of America accepts private messages through its verified Facebook and Instagram accounts. The general contact pages list representative hours of Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–9 p.m. ET; Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. ET; and Sunday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. ET. Verify that an account is official, and do not send account numbers or Social Security numbers in social messages.
The checking and savings page lists this general mailing address: Bank of America, PO Box 25118, Tampa, FL 33622–5118. Confirm that it is the right address for your specific request before mailing forms or documents.
