Costco Same-Day delivery
Same-Day is a separate ordering route, with its own listings and policies. Costco Same-Day’s help result describes custom cakes ordered through Instacart at select Costco locations, with a 48-hour lead time. It also says changes or cancellation are not permitted after midnight on the order date. Canada
Costco’s FAQ says Canadian warehouses cannot use app cake ordering at this time. Do not assume that the U.S. app process or its deadlines apply in Canada; check with the warehouse serving you for current ordering options.

15 tips before placing your order

- Draft a short message before checkout. That listing allows up to 30 characters for writing. Keep your wording within the limit shown for the exact cake you select.
- Choose the writing color intentionally. The cited listing offers writing-color choices. Consider contrast with the cake design so the message is easy to read.
- Read the filling and icing details on the exact item. The cited 10-inch round white cake lists vanilla cheesecake mousse filling and white buttercream icing. Those details are not a universal Costco cake menu.
- Use the selected item’s serving count when planning portions. The cited 10-inch round listing says 16 servings. Check the serving details for the cake you are ordering and account for the portion sizes you expect to serve.

- Group identical orders together. The app permits up to five cakes with the same customization. Different designs or customizations require separate orders; contact the pickup warehouse about orders above five.
- Keep the confirmation email. For app orders, Costco says it includes pickup details, warehouse information, estimated total, and information about changes or cancellation.
- Contact the pickup warehouse promptly if an app order needs correction. Costco directs app customers to the pickup warehouse for changes or cancellation. Same-Day has a separate cutoff, so use the policy for that order’s channel.
- Plan how you will carry the cake. For a pickup order, a cake carrier with handle may help with transport. Check its dimensions against the cake box; Costco does not recommend a particular carrier or confirm that a specific one will fit.
What to confirm before checkout
- The ordering route, pickup or delivery method, and whether it is available for your location.
- The selected cake’s design, writing limit and color choices, filling, icing, and serving details.
- The requested date against the lead time shown for that route.
- Whether your quantity and customizations fit the app’s limit, or require separate orders or a conversation with the warehouse.
- The order confirmation and the contact or cancellation instructions supplied for your order.
