It listed savings-account APYs from 4.60% to 5.50%, subject to account-specific terms. Because savings rates can change, treat these figures as a dated reference, not as offers confirmed for April 22 or available today.

How the offers compare with the national average
The FDIC’s April 2024 national savings rate was 0.46%, according to the FDIC-sourced FRED series for April 1, 2024. This is a national average benchmark, not the highest rate available from a particular bank. The FDIC’s rate-cap page bases savings and interest-checking rates on a $2,500 product tier. Comparing that average with advertised high-yield offers shows the gap between an overall benchmark and selected market offers; it does not mean every saver qualifies for, or earns, a listed APY.

An APY is only one part of the comparison. Check the account’s current terms with the institution, especially whether you can meet any balance or activity conditions.

- Qualifying balance: Confirm the amount required to earn the advertised APY and whether a lower balance earns less.
- Required activity: If a higher rate depends on monthly direct deposit or another condition, make sure you can meet it consistently.
- Fees: Review monthly maintenance fees and the conditions for avoiding them.
- Access to funds: Check transfer timing, withdrawal limits, and whether the account’s access options fit your needs.
- Availability: The April 4 roundup described its listed offers as nationwide; confirm that the account is open to you and that its terms have not changed.
My Money Blog cautioned that “The interest rates on savings accounts can drop at any time.” Confirm the rate and full account terms directly with the institution before applying.
