Which service fits your task?
Choose ElevenLabs for voice-centered projects
If the core job is generating spoken audio, ElevenLabs is the more directly relevant choice. Its broader product scope now includes music generation through Eleven Music, which can create full tracks from natural-language prompts. That addition makes it an option for creators who want voice tools and music generation in one platform, but it does not make its workflow identical to a music-first service.
Choose Suno for song creation and editing
Suno’s plans and feature list focus on making songs and extending or editing music projects. The pricing page lists features such as stem separation, uploads, adding vocals or instrumentals, custom models, and editing. Premier includes Suno Studio, with MIDI, effects, automation, and design-your-own plugins listed on the plan page.
Can ElevenLabs make music like Suno?
Eleven Music can generate complete tracks and offers controls for genre, mood, style, structure, instrumentation, vocals, and lyrics. That answers whether ElevenLabs can make music: yes. It does not establish that the two services produce equivalent results or that one is better. Their documented workflows differ, and output quality should be evaluated with prompts and examples that resemble your actual project.

How the music workflows differ
Eleven Music: prompt, guide, then edit
ElevenLabs describes Eleven Music as generating music from natural-language prompts, with options to guide musical characteristics and use short uploaded audio references. Its interface supports editing sections and lyrics after generation, and it offers MP3 exports. The company also says API access is available to paid subscribers. These are vendor-stated capabilities; they are not a comparative test of the resulting audio. (Eleven Music overview)
Suno: song generation with plan-dependent creation tools
Suno’s pricing page presents song generation as its central workflow and lists different model tiers and editing or creation features by plan. Premier’s listed Suno Studio features—MIDI, effects, automation, and custom plugin design—may matter if you want more tools for developing a music project rather than only generating a track. Check the current plan page for the exact feature set attached to each tier. (Suno pricing)

Compare costs by usage, not by headline credit count
The services do not use a common unit. ElevenLabs draws from a shared credit pool across its products and lists an approximate music-generation rate per minute. Suno lists monthly credits alongside plan-specific song-download allowances. A credit in one service is not directly comparable with a credit in the other, and neither figure alone tells you the cost of the finished output you need.
| Service and plan | Listed price and allowance | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| ElevenLabs Free | $0/month; 10,000 credits listed. | Credits are shared across products. Eleven Music is listed at approximately 900 credits per minute; actual use depends on product and plan. |
| ElevenLabs Starter | $6/month; 30,000 credits listed. | Shared credit pool; not a fixed number of songs. |
| ElevenLabs Creator | $22/month; 121,000 credits listed. | Shared credit pool; not a fixed number of songs. |
| ElevenLabs Pro | $99/month; 600,000 credits listed. | Shared credit pool; not a fixed number of songs. |
| ElevenLabs Scale | $299/month; 1,800,000 credits and three seats listed. | Shared credit pool; not a fixed number of songs. |
| ElevenLabs Business | $990/month; 6,000,000 credits and ten seats listed. | Shared credit pool; not a fixed number of songs. |
| ElevenLabs Enterprise | Custom pricing. | Terms and allowance are not stated as a fixed amount on the pricing page. |
| Suno Pro | $8/month; 2,500 monthly credits and 20 song downloads per month listed. | Subscription credits do not roll over. Song-download allowance is separate from the credit count. |
| Suno Premier | $24/month; 10,000 monthly credits and 60 song downloads per month listed. | Subscription credits do not roll over. The plan page also lists Suno Studio. |
These are prices and allowances shown on the services’ pages when checked on October 3, 2026, not guaranteed current offers. For a practical estimate, start with the deliverable: minutes of generated music, number of songs you expect to download, and whether you will also use other ElevenLabs products. Then check the current usage rules and download limits for the plan you are considering. Do not assume a monthly credit allocation equals a particular number of finished songs.

ElevenLabs and Eleven Music
ElevenLabs’ general publishing guidance says the free plan does not include a commercial license; free-plan publication requires attribution. For Eleven Music, that help page specifies crediting “Eleven Music” when distributing. It says paid plans include a commercial license subject to conditions, applicable law, the intellectual-property rights you need, and service-specific terms. (ElevenLabs publishing guidance)
Eleven Music’s own page states that self-serve plans permit online and offline commercial use except for film, TV, and Studio Games; Enterprise plans permit all online and offline commercial use. That product-specific exception matters: do not treat a general paid-plan statement as permission for every Eleven Music use. Review the current music terms for your planned venue. (Eleven Music)

Suno
Suno’s terms limit free/basic output to lawful personal, non-commercial use. For paid Pro and Premier accounts, Suno assigns its rights in qualifying output subject to the terms, but says it does not represent or warrant that copyright will vest in any output. Suno’s terms also condition commercial exploitation on downloading output through an approved channel under the applicable tier. (Suno Terms of Service)
Suno’s help center says songs made while subscribed to Pro or Premier receive commercial-use rights; upgrading does not automatically grant retroactive commercial-use licensing to songs made earlier on the free plan. Check the applicable terms for the song’s generation date, plan, download method, and intended use. (Suno Rights & Ownership)
- Confirm the plan and product terms that applied when the output was generated.
- For Suno, confirm the download was made through an approved channel and fits the relevant tier’s allowance.
- Check whether the intended venue or use—such as a film, television, or game production—is covered by the specific music terms.
- Keep commercial permission, copyright status, and third-party platform rules separate; one does not automatically settle the others.
What the available evidence cannot tell you
Official feature lists and pricing pages establish what each company says its service offers, but they do not answer which produces better-sounding results. No independent head-to-head audio-quality findings are available here for naturalness, song coherence, reliability, or sound quality. If those factors determine your choice, run comparable prompts or references through both services and judge the outputs against your own brief.
