You can pursue TikTok brand work without a large audience, but there is no universal follower count that guarantees a deal. Make your value easy to assess: show relevant content, describe the audience you reach, share honest performance data, and pitch a specific idea. You can seek paid posts that reach your followers or paid UGC work where a brand pays for content production or usage rights.
Know what kind of TikTok sponsorship you want
Brand work generally falls into two different categories. In a sponsored post, a brand pays you to publish content to your account, where your audience and profile are part of the offer. In paid user-generated content (UGC), a brand pays you to make content for its own channels or advertising; your follower count may be less central, but the production work and rights still have value.
Neither route guarantees income. The right fit depends on what you can credibly offer: audience relevance, creative skill, or both.
How many followers do you need for a TikTok brand deal?
The official TikTok materials cited here do not state a universal follower threshold for sponsorships or TikTok One, and they do not establish typical sponsorship fees or acceptance rates. Individual brands and opportunities may set their own criteria, so check the current requirements shown in TikTok and the terms attached to each opportunity. Do not assume that a particular follower count guarantees eligibility, approval, or a deal.

TikTok’s program terms say additional legal, account, or program requirements may apply; meeting eligibility rules does not guarantee approval or access to every feature. Where to look for opportunities
TikTok One
TikTok describes TikTok One as a place to find business opportunities, collaborate with advertisers, and get paid for creative work. Its listed features include open opportunities, applications, matching tools, project management, and flat-fee or revenue-share options. Availability and terms depend on your region, eligibility, and the specific opportunity. Explore the current options in TikTok One rather than assuming every feature or campaign is available to every creator.
Direct outreach to brands
Make a list of brands that genuinely suit your subject area and audience, then contact the relevant marketing or partnerships address with a concise, tailored pitch. This is a practical route, not evidence that a brand is recruiting or that outreach has a predictable success rate. A specific idea connected to your existing content is more useful than a generic request for sponsorship.

UGC and creator marketplaces
UGC briefs and creator-project marketplaces can be worth investigating if your strength is making videos rather than reaching a large audience. Availability, rates, fees, and content rights vary by provider and project; review those details before committing. Do not treat a marketplace listing or a gifted product as guaranteed paid work.
Make a small account easier for a brand to evaluate
- Choose a clear content lane. A potential partner should be able to tell quickly what you cover and who is likely to care.
- Show relevant examples. Keep a handful of strong videos or a simple portfolio that resembles the format you are proposing. Identify your contribution clearly, especially if others helped produce the work.
- Keep your profile and contact details current. Make it easy for a brand to understand your point of view and reach you.
- Present analytics honestly. Share the time period and context for views, engagement, or audience information. Do not present a single viral video as your typical result or imply guaranteed performance.
- Propose a natural fit. Explain how the product could appear in content that already makes sense for your account, rather than forcing an unrelated promotion.
- Consider production value separately from reach. If your strongest offer is scripting, filming, or editing, consider UGC or ad-creative briefs and examine the requested usage rights and compensation.
What to include in a pitch to a brand
This is a practical pitch structure, not a TikTok-required template. Keep it short and make the proposed value concrete.
Rank #3
- Introduce your niche and audience. Say what you make and whom your content is for.
- Link to a few relevant examples. Choose work that demonstrates the style or subject you would use for the brand.
- Share recent, supportable data. Include useful context such as typical views over a stated period and relevant engagement information. Avoid cherry-picking or promising results.
- Suggest one campaign concept. Describe how the brand or product would fit your normal content and why the idea suits your audience.
- Clarify the proposed scope and invite a terms discussion. State the deliverables you have in mind, then ask to discuss timing, compensation, revisions, exclusivity, usage rights, paid amplification, and payment schedule.
Agree on the scope and rights before accepting
Get the arrangement in writing and understand exactly what the fee covers. A fee for creating or posting content does not, by itself, explain how long or where a brand may use it. TikTok One opportunity terms may set specific services and payment terms; TikTok’s program terms also describe licenses that can allow advertisers to use program deliverables through TikTok commercial products and related placements. Read the actual opportunity terms before accepting.
- Deliverables: format, quantity, deadlines, and when or how long the content must be posted.
- Compensation: fee or revenue-share basis, payment timing, and any performance-based conditions.
- Revisions and approvals: how many revisions are included, who approves the content, and how late changes are handled.
- Exclusivity: whether you are restricted from working with competing brands, and for how long.
- Usage and amplification: whether the brand may repost organically or run the content as paid media, including Spark Ads; specify duration, territory, platforms, and any other usage limits.
- Responsibilities and cancellation: who supplies the product, brief, and claims, and what happens if either party cancels or does not deliver.
A flat fee and a revenue share are different payment structures, not interchangeable promises of a particular return. Likewise, limited organic reposting is not the same grant as broad, long-term paid usage. Match the compensation and license to the scope you are agreeing to.

Disclose paid and gifted promotions clearly
TikTok requires creators to turn on its commercial content disclosure setting when posting content that promotes a brand, product, or service. Use the setting that accurately identifies the relationship, including a paid partnership where applicable. TikTok says a properly labeled Paid partnership post will not be affected in its recommendations. It also reports an internal study comparing nearly 2 million videos that found no performance difference between videos with and without proper branded-content disclosure. That is TikTok’s own disclosure-related study, not a guarantee about an individual post or evidence about sponsorship success for small creators. TikTok warns that improperly disclosed commercial content may become ineligible for For You feed distribution. Read TikTok’s guidance on the commercial content disclosure setting.

In the United States, FTC staff guidance treats payment and free or discounted products as material connections that may need disclosure. The creator is responsible for making the disclosure clear, easy to notice, and placed with the endorsement. For a video endorsement, do not rely only on the caption: include the disclosure in the video itself. Using both spoken and on-screen disclosure can make it more visible. Plain terms such as “ad,” “advertisement,” or “sponsored” are clearer than vague shorthand. Read the FTC’s Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers.
FTC staff also says not to claim experience with a product you have not tried or make unsupported claims that require evidence. Rules vary by jurisdiction, so check the requirements that apply where you and your audience are located.
