You can check the Amazon gift-card balance already associated with your account by opening amazon.com/gc/balance, navigating to the balance page on Amazon’s website, or using the Amazon app. These steps check an account balance; Amazon’s cited instructions do not confirm a way to look up an unredeemed card’s value without applying its claim code.

1. Open Amazon’s balance page directly
- Type amazon.com/gc/balance into your browser, or open the link from Amazon’s help page.
- Sign in to the Amazon account associated with the gift-card balance if prompted.
- Review the balance shown on the page.
This is the shortest route when you know which account to use. For safety, type Amazon’s address yourself or use its official app rather than following an unexpected message or search ad.
2. Find the balance on Amazon’s website
- Sign in to Amazon in your browser.
- From the menu bar, select Gift Cards & Top Up.
- Choose Manage Your Gift Card Balance.
- Check the balance displayed at the top of the page.
These exact labels are documented in Amazon UK retail guidance. Menus can vary by country or marketplace, so if you do not see them, use the direct balance page or the support options on your local Amazon site.

3. Check in the Amazon app
- Open the official Amazon app and sign in to the relevant account.
- Tap the menu icon, then tap Account.
- Tap Manage gift card balance.
Amazon UK’s guidance gives this app route; your regional app may use different labels or navigation.

Amazon’s cited instructions do not establish that you can check an unredeemed physical card’s value without applying its claim code. Do not enter a code on an unofficial balance-check site or assume that submitting it is a reversible inquiry. If the code is unreadable or you are unsure whether the card has been redeemed, contact Amazon through its official customer-support process.

Keep your gift-card details safe
- Keep the claim code private. Amazon warns that scammers may ask for claim codes or photos of physical cards; do not share gift-card details with people you do not know or trust. See Amazon’s Common Gift Card Scams guidance.
- Do not use gift cards to pay an unsolicited caller, stranger, or business. Amazon’s warning is explicit: “DO NOT pay people or businesses with Gift Cards.”
- Reach Amazon by typing its address or opening its official app, not through a link sent by someone demanding payment.
