The video had more than 12 million views at the time of ABC News’ report. Kapewa-Latu also told Good Morning America, “It fed my family of five.” Those details describe her post and experience, not a promised serving size or value at other locations.
Can you still get the $12 dinner box?
There is no basis in the 2024 report to treat that particular order as a current national offer. The best way to find out what is available is to select your restaurant in the McDonald’s U.S. deals listing or app and check the local menu. McDonald’s says deal prices and participation vary; the listing includes offers such as McValue, meal deals and app-exclusive deals.

Check the order conditions as well as the headline price. The current deals page says McDelivery prices may be higher, and McDonald’s U.S. menu and food-information page notes that delivery and other fees may apply. Compare the selected store’s items and pre-tax price, any app or deal eligibility, and the final pickup or delivery total.
ABC News also relayed commenters’ reports of a $22 price in Ohio and a $14.99 Las Vegas bundle with different items. These were comments cited in the 2024 story, not verified current listings or representative prices, so they cannot establish what a restaurant charges today.
