There is no verified public figure for how much Jake Paul or Anthony Joshua was paid to fight. The bout took place on Dec. 19, 2025, and the widely repeated estimate was a combined purse of about $184 million (£140 million), sometimes described as an even split. That would work out to $92 million each, but neither the total nor the split has been confirmed. Paul later claimed the fight was worth $267 million; that figure also remains unverified.
What was reported about the fight purse?
The $184 million figure is a reported estimate, not a disclosed contract total. The Independent said the Daily Mail had reported sources mooting a prize pot of around £140 million, or $184 million. Al Jazeera likewise described $184 million as the initially reported purse, often presented as an even split.
The reports do not establish the fighters’ contract terms. The $92 million apiece figure is simply half of the rumored $184 million total; it is not proof that the boxers agreed to equal shares or received that amount.
How does the $267 million claim compare?
After the fight, Paul posted, “Stop asking me. $267 Million.” The Independent reproduced the post, and Al Jazeera reported that Paul supplied no evidence for the figure. It should therefore be treated as Paul’s claim about the fight’s value, not as an independently verified purse disclosure.

What did an accountant estimate Joshua could receive?
Sports and entertainment accountant Oriana Morrison told The Independent: “Even if the lower figure – the rumoured $184m purse – is true, AJ could bring home $92m [£70m].” The conditional wording matters: the estimate assumes the rumored total and describes what Joshua could receive, rather than confirming his contract or payment. It does not establish deductions or net earnings.
What is confirmed about the fight?
The professional heavyweight bout was held at Miami’s Kaseya Center on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, and streamed globally on Netflix. Joshua knocked Paul out in the sixth round. Netflix reported an estimated 33 million global Live+1 average-minute viewers for the main event, measured from opening to closing bell. It also reported 15 million for Alycia Baumgardner vs. Leila Beaudoin and said the event set a Kaseya Center record for highest-grossing boxing gate; its release did not state the gate’s dollar amount. Those audience and venue figures describe the event’s scale, not the fighters’ pay.

Were either fighter’s actual earnings confirmed?
No. The sources cited here do not publish the fighters’ contracts or official individual payout disclosures. They also do not verify final purse shares, deductions, or take-home amounts. A reported purse, an athlete’s claim about an event’s value, and an expert’s conditional estimate are different kinds of figures; none establishes what either boxer ultimately received.
