AT&T raised prices in 2026 on eight named retired unlimited plans: $10 per month for a one-line plan or $20 per month total for a multi-line plan—not $20 per line. The change adds 20GB of monthly hotspot data. The timing depends on when the plan was activated, and customers can confirm the change in an account bill notice.
Which AT&T unlimited plans are getting a price increase?
AT&T’s support notice lists these retired unlimited plans for this price change:
- AT&T Unlimited Plus
- AT&T Unlimited Choice
- AT&T Unlimited Choice II
- AT&T Unlimited Plus Enhanced
- AT&T Unlimited Choice Enhanced
- AT&T Unlimited &More
- AT&T Unlimited &More Premium
- AT&T Unlimited Plan (Double Play)
The notice applies to the plans it names; it does not establish that every retired AT&T plan is affected. AT&T discusses other retired Unlimited Your Way and Mobile Share plans separately, under different pricing rules.
Is the $20 increase per line or per account?
For a single-line plan, AT&T states the increase is $10 per month. For a multi-line plan, it is $20 per month total for the plan, not $20 for each line. AT&T also says affected customers receive an additional 20GB of hotspot data each month.

When does the AT&T price increase start?
AT&T’s support notice, last updated June 22, 2026, gives different timing based on plan activation:
- Plans active before July 24, 2025: The price change was applied to April 2026 bills.
- Plans activated July 24 through November 1, 2025: AT&T says the increase begins appearing in August 2026.
Because timing is account-specific, a plan name alone may not confirm when a particular customer’s bill changed.

How do I know if my AT&T plan is affected?
- Open an AT&T bill dated from June 22 through August 1, 2026.
- Scroll to “Read bill & payment info, news & offers.”
- Select “News you can use.”
- Look for a “Monthly rate plan change notice.” AT&T says an affected account will show a notice there.
Should you keep the retired plan or switch?
AT&T says customers can keep their current retired plan without taking action. Before switching, compare the total monthly cost for the whole account with the features each line actually uses. Useful comparison points include:
- Number of lines and whether each line can use a different plan
- Monthly hotspot allowance and high-speed data limits
- Whether data may slow during network congestion
- International service and included features valued by the household
- Account-specific discounts, AutoPay and paperless-billing eligibility, taxes, and fees
- Any legacy feature or Rollover Data that would be lost
AT&T’s retired-plan guidance says that if a customer changes the plan or its data allowance, they must select a current plan and cannot return to the retired plan. Rollover Data expires when the customer changes plans. That makes the value of any grandfathered features part of the switching decision, not just the new monthly price.

AT&T’s current Unlimited Your Way options include Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0, Extra 2.0, and Value 2.0. The company describes their data and hotspot allowances as follows:
| Plan | High-speed data behavior described by AT&T | Monthly hotspot allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Elite 2.0 | Unlimited high-speed data; AT&T says it cannot slow based on usage | 250GB |
| Premium 2.0 | Unlimited high-speed data; AT&T says it cannot slow based on usage | 100GB |
| Extra 2.0 | 100GB high-speed data, then may temporarily slow when the network is busy | 50GB |
| Value 2.0 | 5GB high-speed data, then may temporarily slow when the network is busy | 3GB |
These feature descriptions do not establish which current plan will cost less for a particular account. Check account-level pricing and eligibility before making a change. AT&T says AutoPay and paperless billing can save on a wireless plan, but the amount and eligibility depend on the account.

Don’t confuse this with AT&T’s other increases
This $10 single-line/$20 multi-line total increase is distinct from AT&T’s separate change for select retired Unlimited Your Way plans: that notice describes a $5 increase per smartphone line and an additional 10GB of monthly hotspot data. For certain lines activated or moved to affected plans between July 24 and November 1, 2025 that did not receive that increase in April, AT&T says it begins in August 2026.
AT&T has also described separate changes for select Mobile Share plans: $5 per month for plans with less than 6GB and $10 per month for plans with 6GB or more. Those Mobile Share changes are not the retired unlimited-plan increase discussed here.
