It was available on October 1, 2026 only, so you can no longer claim its Amtrak and Hilton transfer bonuses or its Hilton status and stay challenge. The reported bonuses varied by Bilt status, and the transfer caps and one-way transfer rules mattered when deciding whether either offer was worthwhile.
What were the October 2026 Bilt Rent Day offers?
Promotion coverage reported status-based transfer bonuses for Amtrak Guest Rewards and Hilton Honors. Both were limited to 100,000 Bilt points transferred per program. The figures below describe the expired October 1 offer, not benefits available now. Frequent Miler and The Points Guy reported the Amtrak tiers; Frequent Miler and Upgraded Points reported Hilton terms.
| Bilt status | Amtrak bonus | Hilton bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | 25% | 75% |
| Silver | 50% | 100% |
| Gold | 75% | 150% |
| Platinum | 100% | 175% |
Promotion reports said members could spend Bilt Cash to buy up the bonus: $400 for another 25 percentage points on Amtrak, for a reported maximum of 125%, or $200 to buy up one Hilton tier, for a reported maximum of 200%. These were one-time promotion terms, not standard transfer benefits.
How did Hilton status and the stay challenge work?
Promotion reports said the temporary status lasted through December 31, 2026. The reported challenge required qualifying nights within 90 days, with completion by the end of 2026 for the resulting status to last through 2027. This was a specific Bilt promotion, not a general Hilton status-match offer.

#1 Best Overall
| Bilt status | Temporary Hilton status | Reported challenge |
|---|---|---|
| Blue or Silver | Silver | Earn Gold after 6 qualifying nights in 90 days |
| Gold | Gold | Earn Diamond after 12 qualifying nights |
| Platinum | Diamond | Maintain Diamond with 12 qualifying nights |
The challenge details and temporary-status terms are from Frequent Miler, Upgraded Points and Doctor of Credit; the reviewed Bilt partner information does not establish these as ongoing Hilton benefits.
What were the regular transfer ratios?
Bilt’s partner information lists Hilton Honors at 1 Bilt point to 1 Hilton point and Amtrak Guest Rewards at 2 Bilt points to 1 Amtrak point. Its general minimum transfer is 2,000 Bilt points for Blue members and 1,000 for Silver, Gold and Platinum members, in 1,000-point increments. See Bilt’s transfer-partner guidance. Amtrak also describes the partnership and its 2:1 ratio on its Bilt partnership page; the partnership launched September 23, 2026, according to Amtrak’s announcement.

Was transferring points worthwhile?
There was no automatic winner: the useful comparison was the traveler’s actual redemption against the other ways they could use Bilt points. A large bonus does not make a transfer valuable if the award is unavailable or the points would be more useful elsewhere.
- Start with a real redemption. Check award availability and the points required for the specific Amtrak trip or Hilton stay before transferring.
- Account for the base ratio. Amtrak normally requires two Bilt points per Amtrak point; Hilton normally receives one point per Bilt point.
- Include the buy-up cost. Any Bilt Cash spent to raise the promotion tier had an opportunity cost of its own.
- Stay within the cap. The reported promotion limit was 100,000 Bilt points transferred to each program.
- Do not treat point valuations as cash. Frequent Miler estimated Amtrak returns of about 1.28–1.45 cents per Bilt point at the standard ratio and 2.88–3.26 cents at the maximum reported bonus, using its own valuation assumptions. Its Hilton analysis used an estimated 0.35 cents per Hilton point and found that even the highest bonus could compare poorly with Bilt alternatives. The Points Guy used different assumptions: its September 2026 Bilt-point estimate was 2.2 cents and its Amtrak-point estimate about 2.6 cents; it said an Amtrak bonus of 75% or higher cleared its comparison. These are publishers’ estimates, not guaranteed redemption values; The Points Guy also disclosed that its founder Brian Kelly is a Bilt adviser and investor.
What to know before transferring
Bilt says transfers are generally irreversible, converted points become subject to the partner program’s rules, and transfers usually complete immediately but may take up to 48 hours. Check award availability first and allow for the possibility of a delay. Transfer steps and current partner terms are on Bilt’s transfer-partner page. Amtrak says linked Bilt and Amtrak accounts are required; its points can be used for rail travel, lounge passes and onboard upgrades, and transferred points cannot be reversed. See Amtrak’s partnership page.
