Henry has been indicted on bank fraud, access device fraud and bribery charges; the indictment is not a finding of guilt, and she is presumed innocent.
What prosecutors allege happened
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, Henry, 35, of Stone Mountain, worked as a universal banker at Ameris Bank locations in the Atlanta area in 2021. Prosecutors allege that from September through November of that year, she used six customers’ account numbers and identifying information on at least six occasions to link their Ameris accounts to Coinbase accounts controlled by alleged co-conspirators.
The government says approximately $931,500 was transferred from the customers’ Ameris accounts to those Coinbase accounts. Prosecutors also allege that Henry received more than $1,000 for participating. These figures describe the government’s allegations, not losses or payments established by a court. The DOJ’s case announcement does not say whether customers were reimbursed or whether any funds were recovered.
What charges Henry faces
A federal grand jury returned an indictment on September 22, 2026. Henry was arrested and appeared in federal court on September 25. The indictment charges her with bank fraud, access device fraud and bribery, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The FBI investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Cathelynn Tio is prosecuting it. The government’s September 28, 2026 announcement does not provide a trial date or report a plea, conviction or case outcome. WSB-TV published a local report on October 3, 2026.
What is established—and what remains an allegation
The indictment is a formal accusation, not proof that the alleged conduct occurred. The DOJ cautions that “the indictment only contains charges.” Henry is presumed innocent, and prosecutors must prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.

Why the transfer amount and alleged payment differ
The approximately $931,500 figure is the amount prosecutors say moved from customer bank accounts to Coinbase accounts. The separate figure—more than $1,000—is what prosecutors allege Henry received for her participation. Neither amount is an adjudicated finding, and the transfer total should not be read as money Henry personally received.
