The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) is a registered national securities exchange, and it began production trading on July 31, 2026. Its official materials also describe upcoming exchange-traded product listings and corporate listings or transfers. But the TXSE sources reviewed do not substantiate the headline claim that it has drawn $80 billion in listings, or explain what that amount measures. Treat the figure as unverified unless its original source and calculation can be confirmed.
What the Texas Stock Exchange is—and what “operating” means
TXSE Group announced plans in June 2024 to create a fully electronic national securities exchange headquartered in Dallas. Its initial capital raise included BlackRock and Citadel Securities, according to the company’s announcement. TXSE’s launch announcement
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved TXSE’s Form 1 registration on September 30, 2025. The Texas State Securities Board also posted an exchange-recognition order and links to the relevant approvals. TXSE’s approval announcement; Texas State Securities Board notice
TXSE reported that production trading began on July 31, 2026, after a phased rollout of National Market System symbols. The company said it had more than 50 member firms at that point. Trading, however, is a separate milestone from listing a security on the exchange: TXSE’s later notices set distinct dates for primary listings of exchange-traded products and corporate securities.

What is known about the $80 billion claim
The TXSE approval and launch announcements, September readiness notice, and listing materials cited here do not state that the exchange has secured $80 billion in listings. They also do not define such a total or publish a calculation. That means the figure is unverified against these official sources—not that it has been disproved or cannot be supported by a separate source.
“Listings” can refer to different things, so a dollar figure is not meaningful without its basis. It might describe the market capitalization of companies planning to transfer, assets held by funds, expected value of prospective issuers, or proceeds from new offerings. Those measures are not interchangeable. A company’s announcement of a planned move also does not establish that the transfer has been completed.

To assess the $80 billion claim, a reader needs the original attribution and the details behind the number:
- Who published it, and when?
- What does it measure: market capitalization, assets, listing proceeds, estimated issuer value, or something else?
- Which companies or products are included, and what valuation date was used?
- Does the total count completed listings, announced future transfers, or prospective interest?
- Is the amount specifically attributable to TXSE, or does it refer to the value of companies that have announced a move?
Without those details, it would be misleading to repeat $80 billion as a verified total or describe it as the combined market capitalization of TXSE-listed companies.

TXSE’s reported launch and listing sequence
The later, more specific notices give the clearest account of the rollout. TXSE reported production trading in July 2026, said primary ETP listings would begin September 16, and scheduled corporate securities to begin listing on October 5. Its July release forecast IPOs in 2027. July 31, 2026 trading announcement; September 10, 2026 readiness notice
The September notice named four upcoming primary ETP listings:

- Brookmont Catastrophic Bond ETF
- Calamos Timpani Active SMID Growth ETF
The notice describes upcoming products and a scheduled start date; it is not, by itself, confirmation that each product’s listing was completed. The five names above are those listed in TXSE’s September 10 notice. TXSE readiness notice
Companies named in TXSE listing and transfer announcements
As of October 3, 2026, TXSE’s listing page displayed new-listing alerts dated September 28 through October 2 for Sunoco LP, The Charles Schwab Corporation, and Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc. TXSE’s media-center index also showed announcements involving Dillard’s and Origin Bancorp. These are reported listing or transfer announcements; the announcement pages alone do not establish that every transfer has taken effect. TXSE listings page; TXSE media center

For an investor checking a particular company, the practical distinction is whether the move is proposed or announced, scheduled, or effective. Confirm the security and effective date in the issuer’s investor-relations release or a formal listing notice before treating a transfer as complete.

TXSE presents itself as an alternative exchange built around competition, transparency, and alignment with issuers and investors. Those are the company’s stated aims, not proof of lower costs or better outcomes. Its chairman and CEO, James H. Lee, described the exchange at its September 2025 approval as an effort to build a market rooted in “alignment, transparency, and partnership with issuers and investors.” TXSE approval announcement
When production trading began, Lee said TXSE was “now firmly a part of the global market structure.” TXSE President and Global Head of Trading Cameron Smith said the system could process billions of messages with ultra-low latency. Those are company statements; the materials cited here do not provide independent performance testing or demonstrate resulting liquidity, savings, or investor returns. TXSE trading announcement
For an issuer comparing TXSE with the NYSE or Nasdaq, the announcement record is only one part of the decision. A useful comparison would need like-for-like information on listing and annual fees, transfer terms, applicable listing standards, market access and liquidity, issuer services, and completed listings. The TXSE sources cited here do not establish a fee, liquidity, or issuer-outcome advantage over either incumbent exchange.
