HIVE describes itself as a multi-class specialty managing general agent (MGA) and Lloyd’s Coverholder. Its existing classes include aviation, marine, war, political violence and terrorism, and space, according to the company’s description. The property launch expands that stated range of underwriting activity.
HIVE’s stated approach to the new class
HIVE says the property business will combine specialist underwriting expertise, advanced analytics, and proprietary technology. The company says its goals include disciplined risk selection, long-term partnerships, and sustainable portfolio performance. These are stated aims; the announcement does not provide operating results or measured performance for the new class.

Brown said his focus will be building a team with technical expertise, responsive service, and strong broker relationships. HIVE CEO Bruce Carman described Brown’s property background and team-building experience as reasons for appointing him to lead the new business.
