ASE Technology Holding reported unaudited second-quarter 2026 revenue of NT$191.064 billion, up 26.7% from a year earlier, with NT$21.068 billion in net income attributable to parent shareholders and basic EPS of NT$4.80 (US$0.304 per ADS). Assembly and testing drove the strongest segment growth. The company has also announced AI-related packaging investments, but its reported results do not quantify how much AI demand—or any new capacity—contributed to the quarter.
What ASE reported for the second quarter
In results filed July 30, 2026, ASE Technology Holding said consolidated revenue reached NT$191,064 million in 2Q26. Revenue rose 26.7% year over year and 10.0% from 1Q26. Net income attributable to parent shareholders was NT$21,068 million, and basic earnings per share were NT$4.80, equivalent to US$0.304 per ADS. These figures are unaudited and company-reported. The sequential comparison also shows higher profit: ASE reported NT$14,148 million in parent-attributable net income and basic EPS of NT$3.24 for 1Q26, against the second quarter’s NT$21,068 million and NT$4.80. ASE’s 1Q26 results filing
Assembly and testing outpaced EMS
ASE describes itself as a provider of semiconductor assembly and testing services (ATM) and electronic manufacturing services (EMS). Its 2Q26 revenue mix shows the scale of those businesses: packaging and testing together accounted for roughly two-thirds of revenue, while EMS contributed about one-third.
#1 Best Overall
| 2Q26 revenue category | Share of total revenue |
|---|---|
| Packaging | Approximately 52% |
| Testing | Approximately 13% |
| EMS | Approximately 34% |
| Other | Approximately 1% |
ATM revenue was NT$126,148 million, up 36.3% year over year and 12.2% sequentially. Its gross margin was 27.3%, compared with 26.0% in 1Q26. EMS revenue was NT$65,789 million, up 11.9% year over year and 6.3% sequentially. Thus, both segments grew, but assembly and testing expanded considerably faster than EMS. ASE’s 2Q26 results filing
What the results say—and do not say—about AI
ASE’s strong ATM growth is consistent with a quarter of expanding demand for packaging and testing services, but the reported figures do not isolate AI-related revenue. They do not establish how much of the growth came from AI chips rather than other customer products or market conditions.

The company’s 2026 press-room announcements point to a strategic push to serve AI-related demand: a planned NT$17.8 billion high-tech facility in Kaohsiung, an advanced AI packaging hub planned with WUS, and automated 310mm panel-level packaging. These are announcements about investment, collaboration, and capacity plans—not evidence that the projects generated incremental revenue or profit in 2Q26. ASE press-room announcements

The quarter was substantially stronger than ASE’s 2025 full-year baseline in absolute scale, though a single quarter should not be treated as a forecast. For 2025, the company reported NT$645,388 million in revenue and NT$40,658 million in parent-attributable net income. ASE’s 2025 results filing

ASE says its financial information is internally generated, prepared under Taiwan-IFRS, unaudited, and not necessarily indicative of future-period results. Semiconductor demand can shift with industry cycles, while announced capacity must still be built, brought into operation, and utilized. The available quarter figures establish strong growth and a faster-growing ATM business; they do not establish future returns from the planned AI packaging investments.
