The standards and migration challenge are real; the company’s adoption, market-size and revenue claims remain management’s claims, not independently verified outcomes.
What 01 Quantum told investors
According to the Investing.com transcript of the October 1, 2026 presentation, CEO Andrew Cheung and CFO Jeff Kilborn described a business focused on applying quantum-safe security to end-user products. Cheung summed up the pitch as: “fundamentally, we just make everything quantum safe.” That is the company’s positioning, not an independent assessment of its products.
The transcript attributes the following product and commercial statements to management:
- Remote access: work associated with Hitachi, including a claimed double-digit royalty arrangement for a related product.
- Email security: an Outlook plug-in.
- Digital assets: qVAULT, described as a protection product.
- Encrypted AI: a recently granted U.S. patent related to the area.
- Commercial relationships or work: references to CGI, Thales, PwC, Utimaco, QLF and Crypto4A.
The transcript records what company representatives said; it does not independently establish customer uptake, the scope or status of each relationship, product security performance, or revenue earned. A named partner, patent or product is not by itself evidence of broad deployment or recurring sales.

How to read the market and revenue case
Management presented a forecast of a quantum-safe cybersecurity market exceeding CAD 2.8 billion by 2030 and an encrypted-AI market reaching CAD 5.4 billion by 2032. Those are company-presented estimates from the 2026 conference, not independently validated measurements in the transcript. The presentation also discussed scenarios for email adoption and digital assets; those, too, should be read as company scenarios rather than established market outcomes.
For an investor, a large projected market is only the beginning of the analysis. The company must show that its products meet customer requirements, win deployments, and turn those deployments into revenue. The transcript supplies management’s commercial thesis, but does not independently verify adoption or validate the forecasts’ methodology.

What is established about post-quantum cryptography
There is a genuine standards milestone behind the broader quantum-safe market thesis. On August 13, 2024, NIST announced that the Secretary of Commerce had approved three post-quantum cryptography standards: FIPS 203, FIPS 204 and FIPS 205. FIPS 203 specifies a key-encapsulation mechanism; FIPS 204 and FIPS 205 specify digital-signature standards. NIST says the schemes are designed to resist attacks by future quantum computers. Finalized standards create a reference point for implementation work, but do not certify a particular vendor or prove its commercial prospects.
NIST’s post-quantum cryptography explainer says it can take 10 to 20 years to integrate new algorithms into information systems. That is a description of systems-integration lead time, not a countdown to a quantum computer or a forecast for 01 Quantum. NIST also says, “No one knows how long it will take to build a cryptographically relevant quantum computer.” A precise Q-Day date therefore cannot be treated as established.

Why “harvest now, decrypt later” matters
“Harvest now, decrypt later” describes a risk to sensitive information with a long useful life: an adversary could collect encrypted data today and retain it in the hope of decrypting it if capable quantum technology becomes available in the future. It is a reason to assess data exposure and migration timelines before such a computer exists—not a prediction of when an attack will succeed.
The practical urgency varies by the sensitivity and retention life of the data, the systems that protect it, and the time needed to change those systems. That makes migration planning a real organizational concern even while quantum-computer timing remains uncertain.

What to examine before treating the presentation as an investment case
The conference story is a bet that standards, long migration timelines and concern about future decryption will translate into purchases—and that 01 Quantum can convert its product and partnership activity into durable revenue. These questions help separate the sector backdrop from evidence about the company:
- Standards alignment: Which NIST standards do the products support, and how is that support implemented? The transcript’s general quantum-safe positioning does not answer this by itself.
- Deployment fit: How would each product fit existing email, remote-access, AI or digital-asset workflows, including key management and integration with customer systems?
- Commercial evidence: Are relationships pilots, partnerships, completed deployments or recurring revenue? A royalty claim, product announcement or partner mention should not be treated as equivalent to independently evidenced adoption.
- Security validation and maturity: What evidence supports the implementation’s security and operational readiness? A patent establishes neither product security nor market acceptance.
- Customer urgency: Which data needs protection for long periods, and what migration lead time applies? NIST’s guidance supports planning, but does not establish how much any customer will spend or which vendor it will choose.
These are diligence questions, not conclusions about 01 Quantum. The cited conference transcript does not resolve them independently.
