CNBX Pharmaceuticals said it replaced Elkana Amitai CPA with Vilki & Co as its independent accounting firm, effective September 28, 2026. In an October 1 Form 8-K, the company said the change was not prompted by a disagreement with its former auditor. The appointment concerns the fiscal year ended August 31, 2026; it is not itself an audit opinion.

Who is CNBX Pharmaceuticals’ new auditor?

CNBX engaged Vilki & Co on September 28, 2026, as its independent accounting firm for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2026. On the same date, the board dismissed Elkana Amitai CPA. The SEC filing index lists the company’s Form 8-K as filed October 1, 2026, with a September 28 period-of-report date; the relevant disclosure is Item 4.01, “Changes in Registrant’s Certifying Accountant.” SEC filing index

The effective date is when the auditor change took effect; October 1 is the date CNBX filed its disclosure. Those dates describe different steps in the announcement.

Why did CNBX replace Elkana Amitai CPA?

CNBX said the change was not the result of a disagreement with Elkana Amitai CPA over accounting principles or practices, financial-statement disclosures, or the scope or procedures of the audit. The company also reported no disagreements or reportable events for the periods specified in the filing. The disclosed explanation is limited to what CNBX stated; the filing details do not establish another reason for the appointment.

What did the outgoing auditor say?

In a letter dated October 1, 2026, filed as Exhibit 16.1, Elkana Amitai CPA wrote: “We agree with the statements concerning our firm contained therein. We have no basis to agree or disagree with other statements of the registrant contained therein.” SEC-filed former-auditor letter

The letter’s agreement was confined to statements about Elkana Amitai CPA. It was not an endorsement of every statement CNBX made in its filing.

What the appointment does—and does not—establish

Naming Vilki & Co identifies the incoming accounting firm, but does not show that an audit has been completed or reveal its eventual conclusions. The appointment disclosure should not be read as evidence of an audit failure, an adverse opinion, or a dispute that CNBX said did not cause the change.

How this change fits CNBX’s auditor history

CNBX previously replaced Weinstein International CPA with Elkana Amitai CPA effective March 18, 2024. That earlier filing also reported no disagreements or reportable events for the periods it covered. It establishes the sequence of auditor changes, not an explanation for the 2026 appointment. 2024 Form 8-K

CNBX’s fiscal 2025 Form 10-K describes the company as clinical-stage, developing cannabinoid-based cancer treatments, with RCC-33 as its leading colorectal cancer candidate. The 2026 filing notes that Elkana Amitai CPA’s audit reports for fiscal years 2024 and 2025 contained explanatory going-concern paragraphs. That historical audit-report language is separate from CNBX’s stated reason for replacing the firm; the company said the transition was not due to disagreement. CNBX fiscal 2025 Form 10-K
