“AI chip image source Getty” does not identify one specific image: Getty Images uses “AI chip” for a mix of conceptual artwork and photographs of physical chips. Start with Getty’s AI-chip catalogue, then match the exact asset page to the image you want to use. Check what it depicts, its credit line, licence type and restrictions before publication.

What Getty’s “AI chip” results can show

The catalogue is a broad set of images, not a single image attribution. Its results include conceptual visuals as well as images described as photographs of physical chips, so a generic search result is not enough to identify an image’s subject or source.

  • Stock illustration: One listing titled “AI chip” describes an AI-chip symbol and labels it a stock illustration. It is offered under royalty-free licensing. View the listing.
  • 3D concept render: “Artificial Intelligence Processor AI Chip Technology Concept” is described as an AI-chip technology concept and a 3D render. The listing credits BlackJack3D and identifies the licence type as royalty-free. View the listing.
  • Editorial photograph: A Cambricon image captioned by Getty shows a chip at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on July 7, 2021. The credit is CFOTO/Future Publishing via Getty Images. Getty identifies the image as editorial and displays restrictions. View the listing.

A render or illustration may represent an AI chip without depicting a particular physical product. Do not identify conceptual artwork as a photograph of a real chip or attach the Cambricon event caption to another result.

How to identify the exact image

  1. Open Getty’s AI-chip catalogue and compare the thumbnail and description with the image in question.
  2. Open the individual asset page. Match its visual content and caption; if available, use the Getty product number to distinguish it from similar results.
  3. Record the credit exactly as shown on that asset page. For example, the Cambricon listing credits CFOTO/Future Publishing via Getty Images, while the 3D concept listing credits BlackJack3D.
  4. Check the asset’s licence type, restrictions and whether that licence permits your specific use. The category or search page alone does not establish permission to publish a particular image.

Check the licence separately from the subject

Identifying what an image depicts does not establish that you may use it. Getty’s cited examples have different licensing contexts: the illustration and 3D render listings identify royalty-free licensing, while the Cambricon image is an editorial listing with restrictions. Read the live asset page and confirm that the licence and permitted use fit your publication. A royalty-free label is not, by itself, a substitute for checking the terms and restrictions for the specific asset.

When the image is not identifiable from the title

If all you have is the phrase “AI chip image source Getty,” you cannot reliably assign a photographer, chip maker or event to the intended image. Ask for the image itself, its Getty product number or its exact asset-page link before publishing a specific attribution. Without one of those identifiers, the catalogue is a starting point, not proof of which image is meant.
