Those are Epic’s allegations about Apple’s policies and their effects, not a finding that Apple intentionally delayed every regional launch. The installation details also vary by country, so the nine steps Epic reported in Brazil should not be treated as a universal iPhone process.
Where is the Epic Games Store available on iOS?
Epic’s dated announcements establish launches in the European Union, Japan and Brazil. The regions have different legal and installation contexts, and the available figures are not directly comparable.

Can you install the Epic Games Store in Australia?
The available statements do not confirm that the Epic Games Store is installable on iPhone in Australia. Epic said on May 19, 2026, that Fortnite had not returned to Australian app stores because it would not accept the existing payment arrangement while awaiting a court decision. That statement addresses Fortnite’s return and payment terms; it does not, on its own, settle the separate question of store availability.
What did the courts and regulators decide in Epic v. Apple?
Australia: a finding on market power, with remedies still in play
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) says the Federal Court found in August 2025 that Apple and Google misused market power by restricting alternative app distribution and in-app payments. In April 2026, the ACCC received leave to intervene on remedies. That intervention concerns what orders the court may make; it is not itself a final remedy decision.

Epic said in May 2026 that it would wait for a court decision rather than accept the existing Australian payment arrangement. The ACCC’s April 21, 2026 statement described its intended submissions as addressing the public interest in competitive digital services markets.
United States: Supreme Court filings and a temporary deadline pause
The U.S. Supreme Court docket records Apple’s stay application in May 2026 and Justice Elena Kagan’s denial of that application on May 6. Apple’s SEC filing says the company petitioned for Supreme Court review on May 21. A July 6, 2026 report said Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers approved a temporary postponement of deadlines while Apple sought a broader pause.

These developments show that U.S. proceedings remained active in the cited updates. They do not establish that the Supreme Court had decided Apple’s petition or that a broader pause had been granted.
What the installation figures do—and do not—show
Epic said Japan’s move to a six-screen installation process was followed by a 60% decrease in player drop-off. That is a company-reported result: it indicates Epic’s account of what happened to users in that process, but it is not proof that the same change would produce the same result elsewhere. The cited material does not provide an independent adoption study or a basis for comparing that percentage with Brazil’s nine-step flow.

Epic also described the Australian court record as containing “2,000+ pages of findings.” That is Epic’s characterization of the record’s length, not a substitute for the court’s legal findings or a summary of the remedies still under consideration.

For users, the practical question is regional: whether the store is available where they live and what installation process applies there. A launch in the EU, Japan or Brazil does not establish availability in Australia or the United States. For developers, the unresolved issues include the rules for distributing apps outside Apple’s store and the terms for handling in-app payments. The Australian remedies process and U.S. litigation may affect those rules, but the cited updates do not establish a single global outcome.
