Four models were listed at or below Rs. 50,000; a used HP EliteBook 840 G3 was a Rs. 51,500 stretch option, not an under-budget pick. These are historical prices and listings, not current buying advice.
2020 price and specification comparison
Prices below are the figures and seller listings reported in Talha Ikram’s 2020 TechJuice article. “Under Rs. 50,000” is treated literally: a laptop listed at exactly Rs. 50,000 meets the ceiling, while the EliteBook at Rs. 51,500 does not.
| Model and condition | 2020 listed price and seller | Processor and memory | Storage and graphics | Display and battery |

Which 2020 pick suited each buyer?
HP Notebook 15: larger screen and dedicated graphics
At exactly Rs. 50,000 in the Hafeez Centre listing, this was the option for buyers who valued a 15.6-inch screen, substantial hard-drive capacity and dedicated graphics. TechJuice described the Radeon 520 as suitable for lower-end games; that makes it a casual-gaming budget pick, not a modern gaming laptop. Its 5,400rpm hard drive is slower for everyday file and application access than an SSD.
HP ProBook MT31: quickest-feeling storage in the new-price options
The ProBook MT31 was listed at Rs. 49,500 by Paklap. Its 128GB SSD should make booting and launching applications feel more responsive than the hard-drive models, but the Celeron 3865U is a basic dual-core processor, so demanding workloads are a poor fit. The 13.3-inch anti-glare screen makes it the most compact new-price selection described here.

HP Notebook 14: smaller hard-drive option at the price ceiling
The 14-inch Notebook 14 matched the Rs. 50,000 ceiling in the Hafeez Centre listing. It combined an AMD A6-7310 quad-core processor and integrated Radeon R4 graphics with 1TB of mechanical storage. It is a more compact alternative to the Notebook 15, but it does not have the 15’s dedicated Radeon 520 graphics.
Toshiba Portege Z30-C: lowest listed price, with used-device checks
At Rs. 47,000 from Al Aqsa, the used Portege offered a Core i5-6200U and 128GB SSD in a 13.3-inch system with a backlit keyboard. Its used condition changes the buying calculation: inspect the laptop in person where possible, test the keyboard, ports, display and charger, and check battery health before paying. The cited listing gives no battery capacity.

HP EliteBook 840 G3: a used stretch option, not under Rs. 50,000
The OLX listing put this used EliteBook at Rs. 51,500, Rs. 1,500 above the stated limit. Its Core i5-6200U, 256GB SSD and 14-inch screen may make it worth considering only if the buyer can stretch the budget and verify condition. The listed Intel HD Graphics 6000 specification is what the 2020 article reports; buyers should confirm the exact hardware in any particular unit.

These were seller-specific listings rather than guaranteed market-wide prices. The article attributed rising laptop prices to the dollar rate exceeding 160 and taxes on such goods, but did not provide an independent market statistic. Listings, stock and condition could vary, especially for used machines. A price in a 2020 article does not establish what any of these models cost or whether they are available now.

For a used laptop, compare the specific unit—not just its model name. Check that the processor, memory and storage match the listing; test the charger, ports, keyboard, screen and wireless connection; and assess battery runtime before committing. For hard-drive models, account for the slower storage experience relative to an SSD when choosing between otherwise similar configurations.
