The seller was an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners. Sensata’s announcement said the terms were not disclosed, but its later acquisition-history table lists a $59.6 million purchase price for the transaction dated January 2, 2014. The deal concerned Wabash Technologies, a sensor maker—not Wabash National, the truck-trailer company.
When did Sensata acquire Wabash?
Sensata announced the completed acquisition on January 3, 2014, describing it as a previously announced deal. Sensata’s later acquisition-history table dates the acquisition of Wabash Worldwide Holding Corp. to January 2, 2014. Those dates refer to different recorded milestones: the table’s transaction date and the public completion announcement.
The deal was announced in December 2013, according to Sensata’s completion release. The original announcement page was not available among the sources reviewed here, so no more specific announcement date is established.
How much did Sensata pay for Wabash?
Sensata’s January 3, 2014 completion announcement said, “Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.” A later Sensata acquisition-history table, included in a 2018 filing, reports a $59.6 million purchase price for the January 2, 2014 Wabash Worldwide Holding Corp. acquisition. The later figure provides purchase-price detail that the contemporaneous announcement did not disclose.

Is Wabash Technologies the same company as Wabash National?
No. This acquisition involved Wabash Technologies, the sensor and engine-component manufacturer, identified in Sensata’s later acquisition table as Wabash Worldwide Holding Corp. Wabash National is a separate company known for truck trailers. Similar names do not make the businesses interchangeable.

What happened to Wabash after Sensata bought it?
Sensata classified the Wabash acquisition within its Performance Sensing business in its later acquisition-history table. Its 2018 filing continued to record the transaction as part of Sensata’s acquisition history.
In 2018, Sensata completed a cross-border merger under which Sensata Technologies Holding plc became the public parent of previously controlled subsidiaries. The filing said the merger did not change the business conducted before it. These records establish how Sensata reported the deal and the later parent-company structure; they do not establish Wabash’s current branding, ownership, or the availability of its products.
