ARCO, Inc. and ADATA Technology announced a global distribution alliance on February 5, 2016. The pact covered ADATA industrial solid-state drives, industrial DRAM modules, and card and embedded products, alongside ARCO’s DRAM, NAND Flash, NOR Flash, and EEPROM solutions. Its stated purpose was to help industrial and server customers source technology for new designs while supporting legacy products and longer product life cycles.
What was the ARCO–ADATA global pact?
It was a distribution relationship, not a merger or a product launch: ARCO would distribute ADATA’s Industrial Solution globally. The announcement presented the arrangement as a way to give industrial customers access to memory and storage technologies, quality intended to keep business processes operating effectively, and support for both new designs and legacy products. EE Times reported the announcement on February 5, 2016.
Which products did the alliance cover?
The announcement named ADATA categories that complemented ARCO’s existing memory portfolio.
| Company | Products named in the 2016 announcement |
|---|---|
| ADATA Technology | Solid-state drives, industrial DRAM modules, and card/embedded products |
| ARCO, Inc. | DRAM, NAND Flash, NOR Flash, and EEPROM memory solutions |
The combined range was described as relevant to industrial and server markets. The announcement does not identify particular models, interfaces, capacities, endurance ratings, or environmental certifications, so it cannot establish whether a specific product suits a particular design.

How was the pact meant to help with new designs and legacy memory?
The stated value was lifecycle coverage: customers could consider newer technology for a design while also seeking support for products already in service. That matters in industrial procurement, where replacing a component can involve redesign, validation, and operational disruption. The announcement describes the alliance’s aim, but does not specify guaranteed availability periods, last-time-buy terms, compatibility commitments, or support durations. Those details would need to be confirmed for the exact product and project.
Who were ARCO and ADATA at the time?
The 2016 announcement described ADATA as a Taiwan-headquartered vendor of DRAM modules and USB flash drives, as well as memory cards, solid-state drives, and portable hard drives. It described ARCO as part of the ARCOTEK group and as specializing in memory solutions since 1994. These are historical descriptions from the announcement, not verified current company profiles or confirmation of present-day operations.

Maria Ochoa, then ARCO’s Product Manager of NAND-Based Product and Memory Solutions, said the ADATA product line supported a strategic growth segment for ARCO and its effort to bring memory and storage solutions to industrial and server markets. She also described a shared aim of providing innovative, customized solutions over the product life cycle.

No current status follows from a 2016 announcement alone. It establishes that the companies announced a global distribution relationship at that time; it does not verify whether the arrangement remains in force, which products are currently offered through ARCO, or what availability and support terms apply today. Buyers should confirm current distribution, stock, specifications, and lifecycle commitments directly with the relevant supplier before making a procurement decision.
